The OP has the right not to visit the board, but I would argue that the OP does not have the right to stop or limit other members rights to discuss any topic that relates reasonably to the Mass Effect games.

Requesting that a valid topic be banned says more about the OP than the people involved in discussing the topic/s in question.





Bioware could make improvements to the whole romance aspect of the dialogues in ME2, but what is done or not isnt an issue, to me.

Well, no, but he has the right to say he wants them banned.  And he deserves everything he gets for being so foolish as to say something so stupid in public.  Still, I for one fully defend his right to be ridiculous. And it's hardly like he has the power to do anything except impotently rage against the gay machine.

i think what really bothers me about all this is that the gay supporters have their thread and get mad when people are not being "civil", but then they come into threads against same sex and they in fact do not act "civil"

OK, let's think a sec:  If someone created a polite topic against the inclusion of gay romance in ME, should it get trolled?  No.  I'd very much dislike such a topic.  I'd also just STAY THE HELL AWAY.

If someone just says "Ban them gay likin' folk 'cause I ain't gonna cotton to that nonsense" then...

No, Petry is right. The OP has just as much "right" to create a topic asking for future same-sex threads to be automatically closed as those in favor of ME gayness have to create said topics. Over and over and over. I see no reason why he should be flamed or trolled for it, given how quickly such behavior is looked down upon in any of the other "gay sex" threads.

Also, the OP never said anything along the lines of "Ban them gay likin' folk 'cause I ain't gonna cotton to that nonsense". He made a thread with the title of "Ban same sex topic please" in which his first post is "it's pointless". The quasi-redneck-degenerate insult is a creation which you have imposed upon the OP of your own volition.

That's not actually what he said though (even though he may think this thread meets the criteria he set out).  This thread isn't against same-sex, it's against people even discussing it on a public forum. Yes, OP has the right to have his little thread.  I just said so a couple posts ago, but he has no reasonable expectation that people should respect that nonsense. Sorry. No just no.

I'm all for keeping it civil.  But honestly, Zeratul, look at page one and on.  It was your side that ran in here and blew up the thread with flame bait.  The second post labeled the OP a homophobe.  That's inciting a flame war, you gotta know this.

Anyway, my point is this, whenever someone creates a thread or topic that is against the "fight for the love" folks, it gets bombarded with remarks such as bigot, homophobe, insecure.  This is fact.  I'm representing the side that doesn't agree with your issue, and people like Ryzaki just say "troll."  You are asking me to be civil, so here I am being civil.
