no it is a valid discussion by the community and if the topic offends you do not read it. By excercising this option you solve the problem for both yourself and the rest of the community who feels this is a valid discussion.
Thank you for your consideration

Im sorry but how is asking the devs to limit freedom of speech a valid discussion? The OP didnt make a thread saying anything like "No gay shep for ME3" or anything like that. He flat out wants everyone who sees it differently from him to be banned from DISCUSSING same sex romances in Mass Effect.
This thread lacks any merit and people who give responses such as yours demonstrate nothing but a complete lack of maturity at best, and outright ignorance at worst.
And before you go calling me a ******, I personally do NOT want a gay Shep nor do i think that gay romances should be in Mass Effect. But that is my PERSONAL taste, and just like I or you are allowed to say what we would like, so should anyone else.
And please dont thank anyone for their consideration. Trying to give yourself moral superiority through an official sounding conclusion is just pathetic.

The only opinion that has any validity to it is yours? To request the developers to ban a discussion you do not like is silly. If you do not like a discussion do not participate in it. But your attempts to squelch a legitimate conversation that you do not have to participate in does not speak well for you. Avoid the topic, or if you insist on participating in the discussion do so in a constructive manner, as i am doing in this discussion which i do not agree with. See how that works? I will debate with you at great length the merits or in the case of this topic the lack of merits to your point provided of course you are willing to do so in a civil manner, and of course you stay on topic. The floor is yours awaiting your response.

oh lol there seems to have been an error in communication here. I was under the impression that you were agreeing with the OP, thats why I responded saying what I did. It turns out i was defending your point of view lol. Either I misunderstood or there was a lack of clarity. Either way it was a snafu, cuz I thought you were defending the OP saying that any and all discussion on the matter should be banned. Turns out we were saying the same thing.
Edit: Although I will say this, where did anyone say that the only valid opinion is mine? o.O

Maybe the problem is that developing a male homosexual character to be believable in this context (Liara being an exception) just hasn't really presented itself in a way that wouldn't potentially alienate the non homosexual population. People being afraid of "Accidentally going gay" would be my guess for why.

Just kidding.
Topics should only be forbidden on these forums if they consistently lead to spam, flaming or trolling.

In the end whose fault is it that they can't figure out where they're supposed to put "it"? It's like kindergardners crying discrimination because they were given an F on the math test where they answered that 1+1=57.

I completely and totally agree with you on this. The problem is if that was the only criteria then people who disagreed with a topic could just come on and turn a civil discussion into a "yo momma" fight just to stop the conversation from happening at all. Toss religion into a discussion and the mods will close it for sure and that is not fair to the participants of the debate who know how to behave themselves. What really needs to happen is that if someone comes onto a forum and turns to this kind of behavior the mods need to delete thier nonsence, and then give then a time out of say a week or so. If you want to refute my ideas i am ok with that, hell i like a good hearty debate, but when you crosss the line and refute the individual there should be no tolerance for it, and thier words should be removed as well as them.

True. But some forums (like Bethesda) are just so massive that the moderators are unable to patrol every single topic. In that case it might be more beneficial to ban a topic all together, sad as it may be.

If that is the case than all the topics about Tali, planet scanning and the new combat system should also be closed.

In ME3 she'll either stay with liara or go with some new F/F romance.
There's a lot of storyline in this series to support a lesbian shepard, and if they just arbitrarily said "lol she's been straight all along even though she's slept with two people with breasts", I would lose all faith in bioware. >_>
Of course, this is just F/F, and I fully support a M/M romance or two as well. Heck, I'd play through the game all over again to see a M/M romance and I'm a straight male. An interesting story is an interesting story, whether I can imagine myself in one of the character's situations or not.
