Exactly what I said about it. And all you guys said, "YOU can't tell anything from just PICTURES". Well, I was 100% right it looks like complete ass. And is not the new Mako (no exploration or anything). It is just Full Auto (old car combat game) in the Mass Effect Universe.

Take out the exploration if you REALLY want to Bioware, but don't add insult by putting out this horrible excuse for a driving segment. Way to differentiate yourselves... rubbish.

I suppose free is as free goes. This doesn't look interesting at all so far. Now show me how this impacts the story, and ya got me ;)

But all I see are completely pointless N7 missions all over again. Oh gee, just what I was looking for.

Cerebrus network and regular DLC is an argument sale it is not free it is incude in every new copy of mass effect 2 , my collector cost me more 100$ in europe .

when i was playing the game i realising some of N7 mission are just walking around and pushing one buton then exit to the normandy , at this point i don't know if i had to laugh or cry in any case i felt insulted because it is really poor in story and realisation .

Now they show hammered and another rail shooter i am feeling insulted twice, i excpected something more interesting like more learning about mass effect universe race or story in more longer , interesting , deeper , new N7 mission but NO.

Once again instaed of targeting , shooting , relaoding with your gun you gonna do it with vehicle if you happy with that good to you it proof they can make and sale anything in mediocrity as long there is big laser , big explosion big weapon .

Thank you! What the heck happened to; "Bring Down the Skys" they were getting it RIGHT! The Mako still controlled pretty poorly, but just a few more tweaks and it would have added the depth and exploration a huge segment of the community wants.

Sweet! I for one am psyched for the hammerhead.

I do have one concern though: does its projectiles seem slow to anyone? In ME 1, when you fire the cannon whatever you're aiming at blows up instantly. Here it has a long travel time. You'd think that mass accelerator slugs would travel faster than that.

Great insight on the DLC's to come on gametrailers, well the Hammerhead looks pretty good, but i highly doubt that the missions will be any less linear, and what's that that i hear? New stand alone products!? Stand alone??

Indeed, sounds like another mass effect  game that's not related to Com. Shepard.... hmm..

Remember that they are talking of both Mass Effect and Dragon Age in that interview. I'm sure that we'll get non-Shepard-centric games somewhere down the line, but I wouldn't hold my breath before ME3 is out.

I heard another interview with Ray Myzuka a couple of days after the ME2 release and there he also spoke about the possibility of continuing the franchise after Shepard.

And to the topic. I really think this new Hammerhead looks nice. But I am one who likes action games. However, some exploration would have been nice as well. But who knows, maybe that will also be included? I mean, who would show exploration in a 15 seconds tv clip? =]

I know it wouldn't be possible, but I really wish I could take this hammerhead on everywhere, "Designated missions," Is a nice way of saying, "This plays on here, here and here....sometimes here." Oh well it will still be sweet as hell.

Isn't the Hammerhead supposed to be using guided missiles now instead of mere slugs? Which might account for the slow projectile speed.

Also, I don't get all the cries about the Hammerhead's "linearity" and the "lack of exploration", considering that in Mass Effect 1 you went to point to point between marked Points of Interest on a map, with nothing in between save flat land and mountains. It gives the illusion of exploration sure, but it's not really exploration as far as the actual execution was concerned. The Hammerhead simply removes that thin illusion of exploration for a tighter game.

What's stopping people from stopping the Hammerhead to look around and enjoy the view anyway? It's not like they aren't in control of the vehicle with the terrain scrolling past you. And according to the controls of the PC version, there's a "Mine" key for the Hammerhead, which means you'll probably do more than shoot stuff - unless that means "Mine" as in weapon instead of "Mining".

His opinion is perfectly valid.  Christ, the amount of snark content on these ****ing forums has gotten out of control.

Person 1: Makes criticism of Bioware, harshly or constructively
Persons 2, 3, 4: Breaks out their 4Chan dictionaries to write something trite instead of actually discussing the point.

I was worried by the footage, too.  I don't want "vehicle stages" like I'm playing a Call of Duty game, and to be fair that's what those clips seem to indicate.  The Mako missions were much more about exploring worlds than they were running and gunning.  These new missions remind me of my least favorite Mako missions: having to destroy those four Geth bases in the Armstrong Cluster.  Tedious.

But I will wait and see, because while I have my criticisms of ME2, a lot of what I was worried about did not turn out to be a problem once I played the game.  I'll play the Firewalker pack, and if I have issues, I will post them and hope that Bioware considers those issues when developing future content.  Doubtless, I will have to wade through the infantile waffle-eating, cool story-complimenting peanut gallery on the forum, too.  Such is life.

Totally agree. enough of the snark people. Let folks air their views on stuff without outgetting railroaded...and speaking of rails, how about that ME2 racing game utilizing the Hammerhead?

I guess the direction they want to take the game is clear: rpg is out, aping elements from other action games is in.

I'm sure it will still be fun, just not what I'm looking for in an "rpg."

Now having seen the video myself, a few observations:

1. Yes, those are guided missiles. You'll notice that the missiles actually home in on even small targets even when aimed at a significant deflection, much like biotic powers in ME2.

2. More cinematic and unique entrances and levels, instead of the stale open environments, which I do like.

3. It seems that there'll be a mission where you get the Hammerhead on the planet, showing your crew getting it out of a crate.

4. I love their idea of having a Loyalty Mission for the Hammerhead itself, even if it's just a pipedream...

5. A jump function that's actually useful instead of being a simple gimmick.

6. The thing is FAST. VERY FAST.

I'm loving the thing already.

Just what I wanted... Mass Effect Racing! *sarcasm*

Ugh. Once again I'm forced to question the direction BioWare is taking this game. When people asked for an improved Mako, who's idea was it to give them WipeOut with a hover tank? Oh wait, I know. The same person that thought it would be a great idea to add thermal clips and a nuke gun. This is not what fans of ME wanted...

Except that you know, there are Mass Effect fans who do like the thermal clips and mini-nukes?

I don't mind people voicing their opinions, just those who claim their own opinions as representing the majority.
