I love Mass Effect 2, ME1 was nowhere near as good a game. I play it on PC, not xbox. The most important aspect is that I care about the characters, and that I am rewarded for the time I put into interacting with them and the world around me. I don't want massive levels that take ages to find the necessay "clue" or objective. That is not good storytelling and the success of ME2 is that it is storytelling like an interactive Novel that makes you part of the story, not an open world where you just roam around - to me this isn't creative or good. Sure there are problems, but frankly you all whine about the tiniest things no wonder BioWare "ignores" you as you say. The fundamental thing is that the story is great and really immersive and feels "real" so to speak. The rest is really not so important.
The scanning? Doesn't bother me - my first runthrough I didn't mind the scanning. Doing it again, like me? Use the savegame editor and just give yourself the resources you need. Problem solved.
This game is not an RPG in the regular sense. Get over it. Frankly, that's why so many people like it. I would rather have conversations and try to reason with people to do the right/wrong thing rather than endlessly exploring forever and ever. Go play WoW or countless other RPG that can give you that experience. Stop trying to make the game I love into a game YOU love - you already have FF etc etc ad nauseum, isn't there room for something else?
The only argument about the DLCs that holds water is: Is it relevant to the story, do you care about doing the missions? If not, then BW is missing the point of the game. Personally I don't want Kasumi just to have to replay the game again to get anything out of having her, I would rather have her recruited AFTER the suicide mission and then do something to earn her loyalty, and have very subtle hints about ME3. If the Hammerhead is just some side missions that don't affect the ME2 -> ME3 continuity then bleh, but y'know, I think BioWare concentrated on the most important thing for ME2 so I can forgive them "not including it originally" when it's a fun way of extending the life of ME2.... maybe.

The combat looks pretty awesome. Wasn't really expecting the Hammerhead before but now I do.
And to all those who want planet exploration. The video has like 20s of actual gameplay material, and it shows the combat system. There might be some exploration missions in the future, if not already included on the Hammerhead DLC.
The only thing Hammerhead won't do is replace the planet scanning. It's in the game and BW is not going to take it away, no matter how much you whine.

GT only showed a 20 second trailer of the Hammerhead, and people are already in need of tampons. Can't you all just wait for the DLC to come out and try it before you give a review?

No. I would like to comment on it now, if thats ok with you and the rest of the nut-hugging ****'s on this forum.
Last time I checked, discussion is what a forum is about.

There's a difference between discussing and unwarranted whining.

With all due respect, he didn't say anything about people commenting on it. He was talking about people giving it a review already. People who are already talking about how it doesn't look like it runs good and how it performs and all that crap. I think that's what he's talking about.

Here's my take. Never played Final Fantasy. Don't want to. Too boring. Never payed any true RPG. Mass Effect 2 is a game "For the Rest of Us".

Hey look, everybody, it's a FPS/TPS drone who thinks that a coherent story makes an RPG!

Actually, I think a coherant and well written story has become an integral part of modern rpg's. Its just that bioware is so far ahead of most other game developers at this point.
There are other important aspects to an rpg of course. But Bioware clearly wanted this to be an entry level rpg of sorts. More action oriented, without sacrificing story. Its a hybrid game that I think will help change the industry.

I was quite surprised to see someone say they don't want 'call of duty' style vehicle segments in the Mass Effect franchise. What would you call the Mako sections on Therum, Noveria and Feros then? O_o
What we can actually tell from that very short clip is that the vehicle based combat has been made faster, more up close and personal and less frustrating (the guided rockets and what looks like seemless strafing i'm looking at you). Levels appear somewhat linear, ala an N7 mission - did we expect any different? Really? Plus the boost jets actually seem to have a purpose now. Saying anything else isn't there is pure speculation at this point, for all we know there is some room for exploration and some pickups to find such as minerals, without seeing more it seems silly to panic.
Not that I see much to panic about. Whether you consider this DLC free or not, the fact is Bioware and EA could easily have charged extra for it. What we are getting looks excellent to me, considering the value especially. I am sort of hoping EDI gets to give a voice to the Hammerhead somehow though.
