Why are people complaining about something free?

Look, it is clear the Hammerhead is just a fun little action pack that, if i didn't mention, is FREE. If Bioware completely blows the Liara storyline DLC or ME 3, then we can complain. Until then, c'mon folks! Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Eh....If this isn't packaged with anything like new weapons or armor then I really feel no need to download this at all. Looks too much like a futuristic combat racer , and I've never liked that genre.

I guess I'll hold out for Kasumi.

Very poor substitution for the Mako IMO.  Bioware was smart to offer this for free because I sure couldn't see anyone paying for it.

this game lacted in detail unlike the first one the fact that when after you beat the game you lose all upgraded equipment and renaged and paragon points is total bull at least with the first one you got to keep everything you ended the game with to start out with on the next play through

Well I must say that looks very good indeed, better than the mako. And I like the mako.

Thank you so much for that link Tazzmission! Gametrailers wasn't working for me. Hammerhead looks amazing, so far I'm more than delighted with the DLC and the game is little over a month old.

And why are people complaining about complainers. It's even more annoying.

Live and let live. Damn.

Personally I just hope each new mission is a bit more in length than five minutes. :)

You like this BETTER than the Mako?

Oh well, to each his own.   At least you didn't have to pay for it.

And you actually liked the mako?
Honestly I had no real problems with the mako besides the aiming controls,  the times you used it during the main missons was amazng. Those bland and boring uncharted  planets were the real problem, the first few times were interesting but after that it just got tedious. The hammerhead is leagues better then the mako from what i've seen, not only does it control better, its looks like a powerhouse; faster, more powerful and actually looks fun.

just saw the twitter feed: http://twitter.com/masseffect2

"All this Dragon
Age: Origins news today. Feeling left out Mass Effect fans? Nevermind.
Something cool coming tomorrow. Stay tuned. ;)"

suggests it may be announced tomorrow?!

Indeed. Well, we already know about the Hammerhead, so maybe it's the new heavy weapon?

Being FREE doesn't make it immune to criticism.
While no charge is on the DLC it is Cerberus Network content not a "gift horse" situation.

To me the eye candy makes it look really fun in the trailer although I have my qualms.
Something about it just rings of Doom, maybe it is because the person in the trailer only strafed in combat.

Bioware was heading in a GREAT direction with the Bring Down the Sky DLC. If they kept that sort of open world exploration/mission type and added in the Hammerhead instead of the often times buggy mako.. wouldnt that be amazing?

Love how those gametrailer douches disallow muting of the commercials. Yet another reason not to visit that cesspool of a site.

Looks interesting and fun to drive but the single homing rocket launcher seems lacking. Hopefully Bioware gives us the ability to upgrade?

Some ideas:

Biotic Torpedo: Works like shockwave on steroids. Sends enemies flying into the air (provided shields are down), however does very little damage. Imagine following up with a rocket. Nice.

Ramming Armor: Adds extra armor (and menacing spikes) to the front of the Hammerhead, as well as a small boost ability. Ramming/running over enemies is much more effective.

Orbital Strike: By holding still and carefully targeting an area, the Hammerhead can signal the Normandy to fire its guns at a target location from orbit. Devastating, but only practical when used at the beginning of a battle (takes a second or two to set up, with a long cooldown).

EMP: The Hammerhead sends out a short range Electro-magnetic pulse that temporarily disables any synthetic enemies in an area around it.

Etc. Perhaps you can only equip 2-3 upgrades at a time to suit the current mission? Also, each upgrade could change the Hammerhead's appearance slightly. Just my thoughts.

I hate the website too, but I don't know of a better one to scope out vids on upcoming games.

Forget hammerhead, I want a return to Pinnacle station for more VR training radness, plus I gotta check my apartment out...(I was kind of bummed out that you didn't bring your LI with you for some "private time" when you went for a visit) >_>

You need a better designer for your life.

You're cute, with your droll come-backs. Unless you live in the top 1% of Income, you have a daily schedule you keep if you want to keep your job, pay the bills, afford the house and purchase food. Your biggest decision will come down to what you watch on TV and what videos and games you buy.

So stuff your ignorant jackassery back in your pants boy.

 Seconded!

Loose the spikes, it makes me think of Carmageddon which ain't in no way  in hell related to Mass Effect !
But love the ideas otherwise!
Cheers!

Having its missiles come out of its cannon thing one by one is rather sad though. Having a rocket pod to let fly multiple missiles would have been so much more fun.

The crux of my entire posting history here has been that I love ME2, it's a great game, it's just not an RPG and it's certainly not to the level of ME1.

That second part certainly is your well entitled opinion, but the first (bolded) part is however untrue. It offers a leveling system, character customization and a level of effect on the story. Perhaps it lacked certain parts traditionally in RPG's but I wouldn't dismiss it outright as a RPG.

When a game desires to have high levels of replayability it must provide a fundamental reason to actually instill an urge in the user to do so.

Replayability isn't about urging, it's about being optional. Playing the game as a different class and making different decisions.

While that provides great story backdrop, it does not provide me a reason to replay ME2, there is no variables in my playthroughs as the game is clearly segmented in being able to explore before and after Horizon and after getting the Reaper IFF. That isn't good game design, ME1 basically opened the entire game to you after becoming a Spectre, excluding Virmire and Ilos, the only thing holding you back was your willingness to engage the galaxy in exploration of your surroundings.

I don't get your point. In either game most of the galaxy is open to you, except for certain story-related missions.
Aside from the side-missions now lacking any persuasion and most of them lacking choices, the rest of the game offers about the same amount of replay value as the first Mass Effect.

I don't play video games to have a linear experience, as far as RPGs go, I have real life for that. To use an analogue game reference, I'll mention Ace Combat. In most missions, you have a wide open battle space to fly in with enemies and objectives to engage/accomplish in whichever order you choose. This is ME1. Then there are the dreaded canyon missions, highly restrictive (fly above the canyon and die instantly.) and straight to the point, usually blowing up something at the other end in a small time limit. This is ME2.

ME 1 was only more open in it's side mission planets (though in other ways restrictive). Aside from you're approach in the MAKO, all other things were pretty linear. Non-linear RPGs are not to be found on the computer. The driving narrative and overall possibilities are fairly restrictive by lack of a game master with creativity (and not every GM is capable of that in the same degree).
ME 1 missions were just as linear as ME 2 is, with decisions mostly formed by whether someone dies or not. I'd say that combat in ME 2 offers more variety than ME 1. With the more defined roles for classes.

I'll concede that ME 1 opened up more than ME 2 with regards to mission progress but I found those bits to be fitting with regards to the story presented.

Not really a big complaint and i don't know if anyone already suggested it or not, but a machine gun (or something like that) like the one Mako had would've been nice so as to deal with the geth soldiers. Apart from that, i'm liking it so far.
