Is it even confirmed/denied whether or not there is a machine gun? The GT vids show very little but very action oriented gameplay. Primarily close quarter vehicle to vehicle combat. Omitting a machine gun or any other type of anti-personel weaponry on an IFV or MBT would be a mistake and impractical at the same time. Most IFV/MBTs need a secondary anti-personel weapon to kill any anti armor infantry because their main gun is too slow to bring to bear on an infantrymen and it's overkill.

Hopefully, the hammerhead will have more than one weapon and have a zoom toggle. I loved taking out bad guys from a distance in ME1. I'm hoping even more that combat engagements aren't limited to close quarters.

Yes because Practicality is ever factored in now a days <_<

So the Hammerhead isn't a way to take a group and explore some planet missions, it is just a little shooter vehicle mini game?

I'm willing to bet that there'll be a few missions with it where you take a team away in it, carve a wrecked path of flaming destruction to an enemy enclave, come dorpping down through the ceiling with the thing, then storm out and raise hell.

This is almost like they're admitting they did a boo boo by not incorporating it into the game to begin with.

I'm very excited about this pack, it's great it will be free, and I guess you can't really complain about free too much, but I'm just starting to wonder how great this is really going to be.

Kasumi is 1 hour long or so mission, a new gun, a new power, and a character you can't really talk to, and they are charging 7 to 10 dollars for it. It just makes me curious as to exactly how much content is in this firewalker pack. You would think if it was a lengthy pack with 5 good missions in it, Bioware would likely charge for it, and maybe give us Kasumi for free like they did Zaeed.

That combined with the lack of much information and no confirmed release date makes me wonder if they aren't just going to throw it out there on a moments notice or even delay it. It's five missions, but that doesn't mean it's not 5 five or ten minute flying around busting stuff missions, and your done with the whole pack in 30 or 40 minutes.

I'm looking forward to it whatever it ends up being, but I was hoping for a real replacement to the Mako with somewhat similar levels of exploration even if it is just for those few missions, but I'm not sure how hopeful of that I still am.

They already admitted that by leaving in the codex entry that specifically mentions the Hammerhead and where it belongs in the hanger bay on the SR2 in the main game.

We are now in the middle of March is it not possible for Bioware to take a few seconds out of their lives to do a forum post and tell us an EXACT date for this DLC ?

Well you can't stop a guy from hoping. Besides it's not as much a practicality issue as it is a ease/difficulty issue. How would you be able to deal with multiple enemy anti-armor units (in this case Geth rocket troopers) in a Mako or Hammerhead? You would have a harder time dealing with them with just a an artillery gun or a missile launcher alone. Basically, you would have an easier time dealing with vehicles (Armatures) than with foot soldiers. Especially if they are behind cover.

Don't worry. Even if there isn't a machine gun, the Hammerhead use tracking rockets to ensure people can hit targets even when doing a 180-ollie.

While I do think it's a nice addition. Nothing beats an artillery gun. It's what irked me about Tanks in KIllzone 2. Rockets are too slow moving to replace artillery. Second, it's still not the best anti-infantry weapon. Ideally, all weapons mentioned (Artillery, guided rockets and machine guns) would be perfect to incorporate into the Hammerhead. Especially in close quarters and urban combat zones.

Only 3 minutes?

15 minutes to do all the missions?

It's an insult even as a free DLC.

Probable response to all the people crying on how long and boring the Mako missions were.  Now instead we have incredibly short and boringly flashy missions, what a difference! :bandit:
