I was playing around with sounds the other day, and stumbled across the method those sound designers used to give the Drell a unique voice. So hey, wanna sound like a Drell? Send me some voice clips of yours and I'll do my best.

Drell voice test

Text is from here, lol

Here's a second Drell voice test.

Also, here's some more:

Turian test
Sovereign test
Robot voice pack (kinda sounds like the Geth, but not really)

I'd consider kicking up the reverberation, and turning the tember up alittle as well :) but getting very very very close

Thanks! I didn't add any reverb for clarity's sake. As for timbre, I'll try that out.

Voice samples, you say?

Can you make a Krogan one or does that actually require a deep voice? D=

A bit of both, I believe. I have the tools to do it, but I'm not sure how krogan-y it would sound if you don't have a deep voice already.

Have you tried making Turian sounding voices? Apparently it's something to do with Flanging.

EDIT:

Finally got your clip to work (had to DL it, the site doesn't work for me), sounds good.

Turians sound ridiculously easy to make. From what I'm hearing, they simply duplicate the vocal track and pitch one of 'em down a few semitones. There's some filtering of course, but that's essentially the whole process.

And thanks!

The link is dead. It says "Oops, looks like we can't find that page."

I think it's because it's still being processed...I can see it, but it says "Creating waveform". Give it a minute, I suppose. I'll post when it's all finished.

Looks like it's up.

I don't have an authoritative, Turian-y voice to begin with, so it sounds like the wimpy Turian everyone picked on in school.

Hmm, this one doesn't seem as close as the drell one was. I think the part you added isn't deep enough perhaps?

For comparison. But I'm not audio expert.

You could always try doing your best Christian-Bale-As-Batman impersonation.

What would it take to "Legion-ify" one's voice?

Also I could never figure out how to produce that... "reverse echo", like what the Hanar have...

Pitch shifting, rapid gating. I haven't tried replicating it yet.

There's a method of using convolution reverb to get that effect. I have a "blur" setting in my program that replicates the effect.
