That really sounds great! Almost similar to geth.
Don't want to be annoying, but could describe it a bit further which granular/speedeffects you've used? Or the vocoder patch? As said, don't want to be annoying, but I need especially geth voices for a project I'm helping with and need to know how to create them. :o

You could also PM me if you like.

What program do you use, treesnogger?

Cubase, with several plugins, also have the "orange vocoder".

I messed a bit around and created this: http://www.mediafire.com/?n5diwm2myqt

But it's still not really good imo. It's also missing those sine waves you've mentionend...

That sounds pretty good! It just needs to be crunchier, ya know?

I've listened to a lot of Geth voice samples, and I can make out words in most of them. I'm guessing they did some extreme voice modification and layered over mechanical sounds.

Wait, you really have actual samples? Would you mind to share them with me? :o

I (lol I know it sounds silly) am playing the antibaar mission in Mass Effect 1 again and again, sitting in front of the TV and try to record those voices with my mp3 player. :I :D

I was playing around with sounds the other day, and stumbled across the method those sound designers used to give the Drell a unique voice. So hey, wanna sound like a Drell? Send me some voice clips of yours and I'll do my best.

I've got a copy fo Goldwave. Can you just post what you do for tweaking (effects, the Db, ect) instead please? :innocent:

Drell voice test

Text is from here, lol

Here's a second Drell voice test.

Also, here's some more:

Turian test
Sovereign test
Robot voice pack (kinda sounds like the Geth, but not really)

Wow, well done with Turian and Sovereign! The second Drell test was better than the first IMO. Btw, I thought Thane's voice was like that partly because of his illness. His son didn't seem to have such a phlegmy sound.

You should definitely make a hanar one. This one would be most gracious to be able to talk like a floating pink jellyfish.

That's pretty easy - here's a video tutorial.
EDIT: Darn, didn't notice that the link didn't go through.

I started a profile on this site for the sole reason of responding to this thread. Good site though, once I beat ME2 I'll be on more often.

Point of the post: I have been looking all over for a good way to replicate the "Sovereign effect" and you have *captured* it better than the others I've heard. I noticed someone asked if you can do the effect using the FL Studio demo, and you mentioned something about a patch? If I get the demo, does this patch make the effect easier to do? Or is the overall effect rather complicated for noobs?

I would LOVE a Sovereign voice for my GPS!! Plus a Windows theme would be sweet too. Any help you can offer would be AWESOME!! Thanks!:o

Well, I've made a patch in FL, yes. If I provide instructions, you can replicate it in the demo version, but yeah, it's a bit complicated. I'd like to make a video tutorial.

Haha, I could record something, I think. I just need to know what to say.

Great job on the turian voice effect

The only thing needed to complete this thread is a Legion inspired voice

Yeah, it's pretty much just pitch or formant shifting.

how do you do the turien one? I have the midgrade version of soundforge and every single time I've thought of something cool to do with it turned out to be able possible in the pro version, but I could probably do this.

I lol'd at Sovereign's "Ah Yes..."

Would suggest modifying the turian speech. A bit too normal.

The reaper sounds like the archons from Starcraft 2

Do you think can do an overmind one too?
