Hey, I'm one of those players that often cannot play RPGs due to a misplaced skill point nagging me forever.  I've also come to realize that this extends to custom character faces.  There's something about my current character's face that seems 'off', and I can't enjoy the game with them until I fix it.  In Mass Effect this seems to materialize as me viewing the face proportions as unrealistic, or not in the realm of possibility which breaks immersion.

I've linked a jpg with a few views of the face.  I think that the character's nose is too long.  It is only about 1 slider longer than the default Shepard's in the character creator but in game it seems much longer than all the other character's noses.  The thing is when I shortened it up, because it is convex, that also looked 'off' or 'wrong'.  Or maybe the eyes are too wide, I'm not sure exactly.

Any feedback is very much appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
Have a nice.

if u were going for a somewhat middle-eastern look it looks ok to me, well eye colour is totally wrong but you could be wearing contacts.. other than that, the eyes do seem a little far apart.. nose is fine, i think it's just the way the light highlights the bridge that makes you think it's longer.. ask dr michel for a nose job :P

btw, it's just a game, get over it.. just my $0.02 worth

Hah, I know what you mean. I wish I could get over it, every time I try to ignore it it just irritates me so I can't enjoy the game. :( Bad personality traits of mine.

Thanks for the feedback.

aren't the cheeks a little too narrow? otherwise, he looks good. turkish or persian, perhaps?

Try thinning the jaw line. I think that might give you a more balanced look.

Yeah, I agree with vehzeel. I think the cheekbones are too pronounced in relation to the rest of the face. Try bumping that down a notch or two, see if that helps.

Hey,
Thanks for all the feedback!
I used it. Here's version 2.

http://i722.photobuc...pg?t=1267383475

Changes: Eyes closer together, less pronounced cheek bones, higher nose, thicker neck.

I'm pretty happy with it, with just 1 last nitpick. Since I brought the eyes closer together I'm wondering if I should also make the cheeks less wide and more pronounced. Instead of more wide and less pronounced.

AIEEEE!

Thank you all.

While I think the comments people have made are valid, overall I actually prefer the first one, had more character.

For whatever reason, that 2nd picture is extremely dark to me, and I can't see anything. The cheeks are a bit too narrow, but he's not bad. A slider or two upwards on the nose would work. And maybe a notch outwards on the eyes.

Version 3:

http://i722.photobuc...pg?t=1268017923

Changes: wider jaw, wider mouth, closer eyes, less gaunt cheeks.

Alright. I think I'm definitely done now. Almost perfect timing for spring break. ^_^

Thank you all for the feedback!
