The DLC has been announced and is coming late march. In case anyone missed it.

http://masseffect.bi...m/info/cerberus

Looks like 5 missions featuring the hammerhead. Doesn't look like any new characters or items though. Maybe they are holding back some little trinkets like some new helmets or some new armor mods.

Looks sweet anyway. The missions will probably be pretty in depth. I wonder how this hammerhead will be introduced in game and how the missions will work. Just random planet anomolies than need a tank?

intriguing. what's even more intriguing is that there are Geth on the receiving end of the Hammer...hmm..

Well looks like you travel all around on that thing. In ice, in lava, in some industrial wasteland, and even on some geth world.

Probably on random N7 missions so they can script pretty much anything.

ah good point. definitely wouldn't mind blowing up some armatures, just like old times--and payback for haestrom.

5 missions and a tank for free?

ME2 DLC is making the $5 DA DLC looking bad.

They did say they wanted to provide extensive content through the cerberus network. I wouldnt be surprised to see similar things to this also free. I hope bioware continues this model for future games B)

If this is what free DLC includes, I can't wait to see what paid DLC will include! Glad to see Bioware treating their fans so well.

I must confess. Based on those images, it looks pretty awesome.

This is very good news. I hope these missions aren't 5-10 minutes each like some of the N7 missions.

Driving around in the Mako in ME1 and doing missions was about a half hour each or more.

I am hopeful they are also tossing in some extras. It seems a little strange for them to add 5 whole missions and not any items. What is the reward for beating the missions? Credits and Minerals?

Probably more credits and experiance points. Not bad considering there are too few credits in the game to begin with, and the XP will help hit level 30 sooner I suppose.

This is our reward for buying the game new, and I'm basking in its glory, this is surely the only way to go w/ DLC.

We buy the game new and get free content, cant be beat.

Putting a hurting to the used game market because it comes out as a wash to consumers.

Yeah Cerb Network is actually a really good idea to encourage people to buy new. However in order for us to be happy about it the game has to be really good.

For example if Dante's Inferno pulled something like this (Inferno Network?) and I had to buy it new to get new content (even though I got it new anyway -_-) I would be really pissed since the game isn't very good.

Luckily I would have paid 150$ for ME2 and been happy about it.

True but by definition DLC isnt necessary to complete the game.

Was Dante's a GOW rip off or...?

I agree, ME2 is a great game, i cant put it down yet lol.

Yeah Dante's was a GOW rip off. But it looked really sweet thanks to all the hype. Problem is they spend more time and money on the hype then the game.

Can't believe this is the same company that released RTO for DA:O. Thank god its a different team thats working on ME2. I can't even pick up DA:O to play anymore.

I see it also as a great way to maintain awareness of the product and IP. If they keep us playing ME2 with regular small updates and occasional larger paid DLC, they'll have a core group of active fans ready to purchase ME3 and any future ME titles they put out.

I had this exact thought as well.  Surely paid DLC is gonna be like a full expansion or something?  Hopefully something to fill up endgame with...

I'm pretty sure the Dr. Pepper DLC items will be included.  At the same time as making the Hammerhead announcement and putting up the Hammerhead screenshots, this screenshot was also uploaded...

Yeah, me too.  Aha, but neither of us have the Hammerhead!  And if I am right, then the Firewalker pack is gonna be doubly cool for those who don't have the Dr. Pepper DLC.

I mean, let's face it, the Hammerhead is the real reason we want the DLC, so if they throw in some headpieces some of us already have, it's no big loss, since the Hammerhead is the purpose of the DLC.

What worries me is my suspicion that the heavy weapon is gonna be the Blackstorm cannon, since I already have that.  Don't get me wrong, it's fairly cool of them to give it to everyone, but I don't wanna get excited about a new weapon to find out it's something I have.

Now I just need them to bring out the inferno armour and incisor rifle for general release, they're the only 2 I don't have.  Wish I hadn't missed the DLC going onto XBOX live early, looks like it'll be the only way to get the incisor on XBOX...
