I have already played on the Xbox, but I was thinking about getting it on PC to mess around with it. I'm sure it's pretty easy to find valid ME1 save games, so I'm not concerned too much about that.

I know it's possible to get Tali/Legion etc earlier on in the game...but how exactly is it done? Is it a simple unlocking of their characters...or do you make it so that you still have to do their recruitment, but those missions are unlocked early on?

I'm also curious about scanning in general...does the cursor move as fast as your mouse does normally, or does it slow down somewhat? How can the mini-game be altered...without breaking the game overall?

For early unlock Tali/Samara/Thane, no recruitment missions are possible. What happens is that they show up after freedom's progress on your squad screen.

For Jack, Garrus, Grunt, Mordin, you still have to do the recruitment missions. If you take Mordin for example on Mordin's recruitment mission what happens is that he follows you like a normal squad member until the clinic where you meet him. Then he stands besides you at the table and talks to you as if he has never seen you before.

Important: You lose Mordin as end up with only 1 squad member. Recommend you do not select the person you're recruiting if squad support is important

The same applies to the others. So Grunt will be in the cylinder but also beside you. It can look very funny :)

All Loyalty missions proceed as normal.

Note that it sometimes prevents you from selecting the members ou hacked during the suicide mission. Solve this by changing back the value in the ini.

It is the same as your mouse speed. For the hacking game, no known hacks i know of. but it is easy to change your credits/minerals anyway.

thanks for the response...

That's kind of lame though. I get the impression the game was designed so that you could recruit anyone at any time, but they changed it to make it work on 2 discs. Was hoping I could put it back to normal on PC.

You can also use gibbed's save game editor and simply give yourself 500k of each resource and never have to scan again (you can also add squad points, so you can max out all abilities which is impossible normally) can change your appearance mid game etc etc.  (when you load the save you editted, it implements the changes)

but the .ini gives you the greatest leverage, you can add armor pieces and so on and so fourth, the only current issue is you can only use resources that already exist in the game so as it stands nothing that is created from scratch can be added, aside from modding textures.

Most of the modding I did was customizing the classes and their weapon loadouts, extra casual clothes, some extra head gear, made all the special weapons (revenant etc) available upon getting the handcannon upgrade.   My recent playthrough I played a sentinel with access immidiately to assault rifle, submachine gun, hand gun, and Sniper rifle.   Sure does make it fun.
