If you have a PS3, at least rent the game.  If not, find someone who does and play the game.  It's the best gaming experience I've ever had in my life, and I'm not even done with the game yet.

I wouldn't call it the best gaming experience I've ever had, nor the best cinematic experience I've ever had, but in the unique space HR finds between those two different media, there isn't much else like it.

I'd love to play it, but since it's only for PS3, not going to happen :(

Yeah, bad call releasing such a great game for a console that no one has or wants.

I know plenty of people who have ps3s! It's a great console despite it's lack of AA.

It's like a point and click adventure game except press X to Jason.

PS3 is a much better console than the alternatives.

The QTEs are quite effective for what they are, they get you involved in what is going on at the moment but allow the game to play out the sequences in a more cinematic fashion. The appeal is mostly in the story and malleablity of that story though.

Personally I would love to play it, but I am lacking the necessary hardware. Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit may be one of my favorite games of recent years, but it was just this close to not pulling off... um, whatever it was supposed to pull off for me.

I like the fact that there are still developers out there keeping the adventure genre (or at least the next best thing we have to accept in its place these days) alive. But, for me, Indigo Prophecy was no Gabriel Knight (or Fate of Atlantis, or Day of the Tentacle, or any of those). The QTE stuff didn't bother me at least, but I don't really think it did the game any favors. And I have a feeling that my feelings on Heavy Rain would be similar. Which isn't a bad thing at all, since, as I said, I loved Indigo Prophecy in spite of itself.

Also played Indigo Prophecy and thought it was nice.

While I can't say I agree, you're entitled to your opinion, but don't you think informing of this once was adequate?

I'll make a deal. you convince them to release on PC and I'll buy the game

to be honest I'd like to try it, their previous games (Omikron & Farenheit) were both rather good, despite some glaring flaws, but I firmly refuse to buy a console for the very small number of games which appeal to me and are not released on PC

Sorry for my ignorance but... what is an "urge"? :P

Amm, and Google is not an option. Sorry, it's not like I speak English well..

However, I don't have a PS3, I'm afraid. I have a PC gamepad though :D

in this case it's a strong recommendation. an urge is like a compulsion or strong desire, urging somebody to do something is strongly implying that they should

I second the OP, if you have any way of experiencing this title, you should at least try it out. It is a very unique and compelling experience that draws you in like few games can. The very fact that the game has no game over screen (the story branches and continues based on your actions, but never ends prematurely) is enough to give this title a second look.

I should be getting it in the mail 2morrow. I'm pissed I forgot to pre-order it and get the bonus! Well, at least I can download the bonus eventually... for five dollars :(

God...I'm on a tight budget, and I want Heavy Rain, God of War III, DA:A, MAG, Red Dead Redemption, Yakuza 3, and the North American version of Demon's Souls (I have an import copy).

I gamefly'd since since I'm currently broke.  But once I get a decent cache of money, I'm buying it.

Well I did pre-order and the incompetent Gamestop employees had no idea where the cards were or if they existed, so I still have to buy it.
