I should be getting it in the mail 2morrow. I'm pissed I forgot to pre-order it and get the bonus! Well, at least I can download the bonus eventually... for five dollars :(

Well I did pre-order and the incompetent Gamestop employees had no idea where the cards were or if they existed, so I still have to buy it.

You never ever EVER pre-order from gamestop. They suck in so many ways it's not funny. Incopmpetents is a requirement on the application it seems. Pretty much any game with a notable pre-order bonus has at least one thread on it's official forums about how gamestop gave away all the codes to who ever bought the game pre-order or not, never got them in, didn't get enough, or gave them all to friends and employees.

Ever since they screwed up 2 of my orders in a row and I began to notice how much they screw customers over in general, I've only ordered from amazon. Amazon is so damn awesome, when I do the free 5-9 day shipping option, I normally get my game the day after I order or the next day. Not to mention if you call customer service with a complaint, chances are your gonna walk away with some free cash ;)

PS3 is a much better console than the alternatives.

While I can't say I agree, you're entitled to your opinion, but don't you think informing of this once was adequate?

As an owner of a 360 and a PS3... I have to say PS3 pwns the hell out of 360. PS3 exclusives tend to be some of the most unique and well crafted games out there.

Of course I prefer a PC to either, as I'm an RTS player at heart ;)

I own both as well, as well as a gaming PC and a Wii, but while the PS3 does have some notable quality exclusives, the 360 has its fair share of quality exclusives as well and it seems in larger numbers.

I play them both, but the PS3 only really gets dusted off for the occasional Uncharted or Heavy Rain.

It's different, but not that great.

I enjoyed the QTE sex. (Hell, everything is a quick time event.)

I have both consoles as well, the 360 sucks imo. The exclusives have not been that great and the online is just infuriating at the best of times. Also the thing keeps breaking! /rant

I agree with wishpig. RTS must be done on PC. Absolutely no way to do them properly on consoles. I'm a big Age of Empires fan :)

I have a lot more problems with the PS3 kicking me offline whenever it decides that it can establish a connection to the network, but I could see how repeated RRODs would sour your impressions of the 360. I've only had one myself, which is more than I would have liked, but still not to severe.

Interesting. I haven't had problems with PSN at all. I do get a lot of lag in some games but that is mostly because I am in Asia and the servers are in the US, and it happens with both consoles.

Multiple red rings is only the start. The first red ring, Microsoft forced me to pay for the shipping to repair in Japan even under warranty because they don't have a service centre in my country, then they sent back the machine still broken and I had to fight them to not pay the second time around! Outrageous.

I had a problem with the USBs in my ps3 out of warranty, I called Sony and they offered to pick it up, or I could bring it to them. I took it and left it with them, a day later the service guy calls me and tells me "we can repair this for usd 50, but as a gamer you don't really need them so my advise as a technician to repair and as a gamer not to". I told him to repair it, and they didn't ship the ps3 back: a technician came with the ps3 to my house and plugged it in to show me it was fixed.

So yes, that probably cemented my impression :P

Well, on a less console-ey note:

I can't play HR because I don't have a PS3, but even if the story, as some say, is full of holes and poorly-written at times, I do hope this game does well enough that people see it as a legitimate style. I don't necessarily want a thousand games that are based entirely on QTEs, but I think video games (as BioWare seems to have picked up on) have massive amounts of potential as a medium for storytelling, and it is a shame not to utilize them as such. When you think about it, movies are incredibly limited compared to video games: they can't hold peoples' attention for as long because they are not directly involved, they cannot take the time to really flesh out some parts of the story/ background of characters, etc. because it would be to much of a diversion and would take away the momentum of the plot. Even books are occasionally criticized if they try to flesh these things out too much if it diverts from the main storyline, but video games have ways around this by getting players more involved or making these things optional.

For whatever flaws it may have, from everything I've seen and heard, Heavy Rain seems immersive and engaging even without a huge emphasis on action, and I for one would definitely not mind seeing more of this in video games of all genres. Not necessarily in every game, as there are always people who just like to shoot things to relieve stress or have fun - which is certainly legitimate, not bashing that in any way - but I would certainly pay for a game that is willing to sacrifice a bit of action for better storytelling.

And that's the not-so-expert analysis of some random guy who's never played it, so take it for what it's worth. :P

Maybe not a huge emphasis on action, but far more action then some other great adventure games I've played.

I love Heavy Rain, starting my 2nd playthrough today. Jaden died on my first one while fighting uh... The "Origami Killer" (I will avoid spoilling anyone). I've never really felt true emotion when playing a game, even in the Mass Effects, but when you cut off your finger, you almost feel the pain, and when the SWAT team comes to Ethan's apartment, I was cheering him on while pressing the buttons on the QTEs. Amazing.

You just spoiled quite a lot actually, not an issue for me of course, but some may appreciate a bit more vagueness.

You did drop a big one with who can kill Jaden.
