Is there even a "keep Zaeed alive" thread? anyways.

I know they added him as a DLC character, and most people don't like his ruthlessness (considering his little incident at his loyalty mission pretty much screams human-Saren). I did not like him at all when I first got him, But as I played through the game with him, I realized how well rounded of a combat character he seems to be. He can take a lot, and he has the means to take down shields, armor, and barriers once you get him loyal.  Also, he's really the only character that is incredibly renegade.  The guy has a lot fewer emotionally redeeming qualities than the other renegade squaddies, too.  I think the only squaddie more sadistic than he is, is Morinth.

I learned to like him, even if he is a big fat jerk.

I'm kind of rambling, but I think Zaeed's character is a human reincarnation of pre-indoctrinated Saren, now that I think about it.  When you first meet him, he is beating the utter **** out of a Batarian criminal. Sound familiar? Given, I have only read the first Mass Effect book.

I like him, far better than some of the "more important" ME2 squaddies.

He's the meanest and orneriest of all the squaddies, more so even than either of the two krogan. Only Jack gives him competition, and she's nuts.

I hate him but not because he's an ass, because he's a douche. He's a failed attempt at making a badass Jango/Boba Fett character.

He works until I get Grunt, then the only time he gets used is Grunts Loyalty mission.

He's a lot like the sniper from TF2

He has a machine gun, sniper rifle, electric bullets, throws stuff that makes enemies take more damage, and he has a gruff Aussie voice.

I actually find it very hard to keep Zaaed out of my squad when I go on missions, I find him useful in combat and I thoroughly enjoy his attitude, the devs should totally keep Zaaed around for 3.

I don't particularly like him but he's a real survivor. Between Grunt/Samara/Mordin/Tali and him, the swarms choose the other fellow. When throwing him alone to hold the line, he survives with a funny line ("Situation is all FUBAR. Need Evac NOW!")

All tested with 0 loyalty.

He's a bloody survivor

I don't hate him, but he's very bland with no actual on-ship conversations.

Awesome. Posted Image

I'm thinking he and Jack will be my Uber Renegade Adept's surviving pair. I'm going to attempt to kill off everyone else when I do his suicide run. Well, Morinth can stay too. Posted Image Posted Image The crew to run away from really, really fast.

I like his one liners. His personality suited my Renegade Shep as well, so she took him with her. Both of them are ruthless.

Paragon Shep chewed him out on his loyalty mission, but it was not like he was needed anyway as the patch came out after I had already done everything else I could find.

He is very good: robust, good attitude, no sissy whining. He is a perfect merc with a great story. Excellent addition to the game.

I liked him well enough. He has fun war stories to listen to, a great voice and awesome appearance. Yes, he's rough, but it's fun to have some people on the team who aren't perfectly innocent. He might not be as deep as some characters, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Yeah, he might be a little one-dimensional, but honestly, how many more characters with daddy issues did we need?

My only regret was you didn't get to talk to him enough for interesting war stories and he didn't have any party banter, but I can say the same for most other squadmates as well.

I like him, but it's hard to grow too emotionally attached to him when the only time you really talk to him is during the Loyalty mission. Just a few proper dialogues on the Normandy would probably fix that, but that might be difficult given that he is (deliberately) a rather simple character motives-wise.

Its an english cockney accent dammit.

And why does this thread have to crop up every week? There are a lot of people that like Zaeed no need to pretend he is hated.

He has a few awesome lines, but that doesn't negate the fact that every story he tries to tell me in his tough little english accent is laughable compared to Shepard's expeditions. On some other thread someone posted a great mock quote that was something like this:

Zaeed: This one time, on the planet Yoroko, I killed a big Krogan.

Shepard: On Virmire I killed about two hundred tank-bred Krogan and about four hundred geth units, then I pissed off a Reaper, then I beat ex-Spectre Saren in a firefight. Then I nuked the place.

Pro-tip, Zaeed. It's hard to shine when you're standing next to the sun.

At first I thought he was kind of generic, and I didn't like that there were no dialogue trees for him. If you give him a chance though and put him on your team for a few runs he can surprise you.

I end up taking him along almost TOO much nowadays. His grenade ability rocks.

I'm indifferent. Then again, Mordin is the only new ME2 character I actually LIKE.

zaeed has zero development and next to no interaction with shepard. hes isnt a bad character, hes badly presented. in fact considering ME2 is all about the characters, he has a pretty god awful in-game presentation.

if all mording did was give you a loyalty mission with no emotional development upon recruitment and comment on a bunch of crap in his lab, he'd suck to.

I thought Zaeed was great. Not the best or most fleshed out character, but definitely a good addition to the team
