The game is running OK for me, except a few slow loads here and there. However, both cores of my C2D are always over 80% and usually pegged at 100%... even standing still somewhere for 20 minutes.
I've just gone back to ME1 to get a finished game with the council alive... I finished ME1 several times in XP and Vista.
I had similar issues in ME2 with CPU usage and the slow loading screens, which I worked around by doing the CPU affinity trick. That worked for ME2 but not ME1.

Asus P5Q-E (LGA 775 P45 board)
Sapphire 4870 512MB Toxic Edition running latest drivers
Corsair 750TX
WD Caviar Black 640GB
X-Fi soundcard
Windows 7 64-bit
Since this is not an officially supported OS, I thought I would check here. I don't particularly like running my CPU maxxed for long periods because when temps in the room hit 80F my cores can hit 60C... under spec sure but I like to keep them cool.
I'll be done in a few days but thought I would check here tonight.

so its not ****ty hardware being thrown at it, I can play ME2 and DAO at full settings. But ME1 slows down to a crawl, 5-6 fps. I tried installing DX9 on top the DX11 as some have suggested. I've patched up the game and tried at various levels of patching. If I want any sort of good resolution the game becomes unplayable.
