If you hardened Alistair and married him to Anora, but let Loghain live..?

Who will be the one to speak to you in Awakening in the parts when the King/Queen should? Because in the scenes after the battle only Anora appeared with the Chantry Priestess or whatever (although you could speak with Alistair and he had Cailan's armor on, but he didn't appear in the coronation thing). What do you think?

Why not wait for the expansion and play it to find out?

Because I'm interested in knowing what other people think, obviously.

It doesn't matter what other people think. Awakening isn't out, so noone can answer the question yet. You didn't ask what people think. You asked who will be the one to speak to you...?"

You're right, I'll edit it because that's what I wanted to know, what people think. But I don't see an edit button?

I've done it in my save. The weird thing is the cutscene only shows Anora and the narrator says "Ferelden greets its new Queen" even though I had her married to Alistair. Alistair is still there but when you talk to him he basically says there is nothing to talk about and thanks you for making him king. The funny thing is I asked Anora to give my human noble a "title and riches" (so the Cousland family can be teyrnir of both Gwaren and Highever :wizard:) and she said that it was "empty" and that she gladly passed it on to me. I liked my ending, hopefully I can see Loghain as an awesome Grey Warden and Alistair as a more determined king in Awakening.

The only problem with this ending is Alistair goes all emo and leaves the party, having Alistair and Loghain in the party would have been interesting, imagine the banter.

I imagine you'll deal with Anora, since Alistair has washed his hands of the Warden and she's the one who goes to Redcliffe/gives the speech at Denerim/gives the eulogy after the Landsmeet in Origins.

Ironically, the only time I've ever managed to have the post-Landsmeet section acknowledge her as ruler was when I did this. Every other time it defaults to Alistair, whether he's king or not.

Anora, I'd guess.

I'm more interested in any references to executing Alistair. Because I'm obviously not letting a deserter Grey Warden live, let alone rule the nation.

in my ending with that scenerio - anora was the "acting" ruler but she said that alistair was good witht he people issues (I don't remember the exact dialogue), she also said that their relationship was better than she thought which was surprising to her (again I paraphrase). Alistair did talk to me in the post coronation (but was still very frosty). I would assume that I would be dealing with anora as (a poster above already pointed this out) she was who you deal with before the battle begins. I agree that the bigger question is will they mention alaistairs execution if you let loghain live and went solo anora?

You never see Alistair executed, he's just arrested and you collect his gear later. If you can break out of Fort Drakon in your underwear, why not him?

Err, but you get the items right in the chest to the left! *points at chest*
But I guess he could do it... I mean, it's not that Fort Drakon, the most safe fort in Ferelden stood its glory when you try to escape it and when the Darkspawn attack it...

Was Loghain alive? Because I sacrificed him to the archdemon and Alistair was pretty cool with me after the coronation, he said he was glad of our victory, it's just that he expected to be a grey warden and see everything through to the end.

1 thing I dont get with the ending is the dwarvern 1, Harrowmont mount, whatever, seems like the good guy, but in the prologue, turns out to be an ass, while behlen, the bad guy, turns out to be pretty good.

Yeah, he's more hostile towards you if Loghain is alive at the coronation.

Which makes sense, but I thought it should've been the other way around.  I expected Alistair to be much more miffed at you allowing Loghain to die a hero.

Alistair just wants Loghain to DIE. He doesn't really care how.

Just one of the things that after many playthroughs, led me to dislike Alistair.

Me, too.  Maybe he's just angry because Loghain is still alive AND he has to deal with him at family functions?

I imagine my PC goes with Loghain just so they can talk about how awesome it is to be a Warden in front of him. Mwa ha ha!

In my redeemer ending I talked to Alistair during the coronation and the first thing he said was: "So, Loghain was killed by the Archdemon"[...]

I put him on the throne and the blight just ended. His only concern was Loghain? wtf is wrong with him? He is my favorite character, but this made him lose a lot of points.

What does Alistair say if Loghain survives the final battle? I'm really curious.

My PC could definitely feel eyes burning a hole in the back of her armor when she spoke to Loghain at the coronation.

Loghain:  So I hear you'll be returning to the Grey Wardens.  zomg me too!

PC:  Yeah, we're totally GW BFFs now!

I think Alistair had a lot of daddy issues, and the only real father figure in his life was Duncan. His real father abandoned him before he was even born and then Arl Eamon he was suppossed to raise him dumped him off on the Chantry. Duncan is the only older person that really seemed to care about Alistair. Despite the logic of letting Loghain live he won't listen because he is driven by vengence. Since I am a human noble I am wondering what would happen if I kill Loghain, lock up Anora, and then let Alistair sacrifice himself to the Archdemon. Does Anora come out of the tower or do I or Eamon just take over.

Anora takes over (if Alistair is hardened, he'll name her his heir).
