To be honest it's not really clear, but you do kind of say f**k you TIM if your paragon and renegade. In a way I think Miranda realizes that TIM is really crazy so I think that's why she's leaving.

Why is TIM crazy? It seems like it will be hard to defeat the reapers without the collector base.

If TIM's being set up to be the eventual leader of Humanity (which I kinda of doubt, as there's no central leadership... do they even describe the Human government in detail?), then I wonder if his life long opinion can be changed by a Paragon Shep.

I'm not feeling it.

Er...yeah. The government representing humanity's interstellar interests is the Systems Alliance, which is headquartered in the Arcturus System.

Sorry.. I knew that (thanks for posting it, though).

But, do they describe the form of government?  What is the top-level governing body?  Is there a figurehead at the top?

Well, if you talk to the Normandys crew, they all make quite obvious you just resigned to Cerberus..
Jacob: "Way to tell your boss your quitting. Wish I coulve seen TIMs face."
Jacob: "(After some talking).... Now that Cerberus is after your tail."

Miranda also comments about leaving Cerberus, and if im not wrong, Joker too.

Odd how Miranda never says anything about quitting, though.  I mean, after the mission's over and such.

In fact, her job is still to send status reports to TIM.  You'd think they might have changed that.  EDI also still sends reports to TIM, according to the dialog tree.

I know there are plot holes in general, and it's hard to catch everything, but having the crew have appropriate dialog for this... I don't know.. perhaps I expect too much.

Then you never have brought her to the human reaper fight.  She quits when the illusive man tries to convince Shepard to save the base and you continue to destroy it anyways.  Use all the paragon dialogue options before you decide to destroy the base though and she does voice her opinion about keeping the base (horrible idea).

Anyways, Bioware was pretty sloppy with changing some of the dialogue trees after you beat the game.

I have brought her to the fight. I heard her statement, "Then you can consider this my resignation."

Still the post-suicide mission dialog doesn't change. Sloppiness? Perhaps. But it seems extreme, considering almost all paths lead to leaving/quitting/discarding ZCerberus.

I'm just having trouble figuring out how Shepard and crew is going to be able to be funded. Operating that ship has got to be expensive.

I'd guess that TiM will "keep in touch" with Shepard even if you blow up the base and tell him to goto hell as a Paragon. Shepards too important to the fight for him to let his anger take over, on top of the fact that Shepard seems to have support of the Lazarus cell. I wouldn't be shocked if ME3 has him trying to regain control of EDI in order to control the ship, or some other sneaky crap.

Post SM game in reality don't contribute to main plot but serve just as extended game to play for fun.

Of course "talkable" crew will express thier fellings after SM end but after those comments game system will behave like SM didn't take place at all because true ME 2 plot whit all consequences ends whit that cutscene.

It's similar system like in Civilization games where you can extend play after reaching final score but no further score will be recorded and in ME 2 you can play post SM but NPCs will behave same as during normal pre SM game.

So i think effect of decisions from Collector base we will see not early as in ME 3 because SM is final part of ME 2.

Very good OP.

Scores of people think that Normandy is their ship. But she isn't. And it's definitely not like TIM is going to let go the 4 billion credit job of his (aka Cmdr. Cyborg-Zombie Shepard).

He tells Shepard in the beginning that if nothing is found on Freedom's Progress, they can part ways... But he is either insincere on this one, or simply holds back the part about the price Shepard has to pay Cerberus for... err.. healthcare services.

I think that through ME2 DLCs this matter will be avoided / hushed down / played out in ambigous ways. And at the start of ME3 there is another major plot twist, that will cut the ties and allow players to quit Cerberus or rejoin it for good.

That said, it's not impossible, however lame, that TIM (read: BioWare writers) will goof off and sell out even his most loyal Shepards, or turn absolutely evil.

I agree with your assessment - the 'relationship' after the shared goal in ME2 is being left ambiguous for a reason: Cerberus will have a major role to play in the third game, and I expect their new role will be explained with a big beginning sequence.
