Anyone see ANY use to this helmet at all besides asthetics? says "+10% negotiation"? does that mean it just adds 10% to your renegade/paragon score?

There seems to be no consensus, but most people agree that it it gives you 10% renegade/paragon points ergo more dialogue options, NOT a discount.

I'm not even sure I would ever wear this for asthetics...its pretty dang ugly

it is virtually useless, the only hard alignment check where you can actually wear it is during tali's loyalty, all the other difficult ones you're not wearing armour.

The bonus adds to your para/rene score. Its useful for those that play like the way they would make a decision, instead of only going down one path i.e. paragon or renegade only.

It's helpful to do the paragon conclusion for Zaeed's loyalty mission. But unfortunately the most important checks like dealing with Morinth, or settling the Jack/Miranda fight you don't have it on.

If someone could compile a list of morality checks that happen with the helmet on (that have any significant impact) that would be helpful. I can hardly name any...

Do stat bonuses from armor go away while you're in your casual clothing? I've never thought to check.

All this being said it is fairly ambiguous as to what it does. It is also really useless. I would much prefer something that got me a more substantial discount at stores or did something more then the monocle.

No.
Stat bonuses from armour do, I think. I've noticed my barrier goes down whenever I'm on the ship.

For example, if you take the sentry interface off and then on, it will display your shields going up by 5% on the Normandy in your casual clothing...so they don't go away,

Should be easy to test. you would just need to check your casual stats. then go to armor locker and change the armor, and look at your stats again?
I thought you lost everything...

It's a shame it isn't more useful, it's the only interesting helmet in the base game.

Not sure I remember any meaningful para/gade stuff in some of these missions. Zaeed for sure, you need a pretty high paragon score to keep him loyal after blowing his Vido hunt. Not sure if it's possible to not get Grunt/Jacob/Mordin/Miranda/Jack/Legion loyal. If you complete the mission at all, then you have loyalty unless I am mistaken. You do need to convince Garrus to be loyal if you warn Sidonis away.
