Great game...great ending!
Played on veteran...Shep was a soldier...took Zaheed and Grunt on all missions that I could (three soldier squad)...at end took Legion instead of Zaheed on suicide mission.
Lost Jack...could not get her loyalty back after siding with Miranda...used Jack to escourt shipmates back to the Normandy where she sacrificed her life.
Took Tungsten armor as special skill for Shep and choose the upgraded AR (LMG) instead of the special sniper rifle from the Collector ship...carried the Geth rifle exclusively as my heavy weapon of choice throughout..."spared" the Geth...saved the Collector base(debated long and hard before I chose, Grunt made a comment that tipped the scales not to destroy).
Visited the bowels of the ship where Jack used to hang out...the few remaining items of her added a nice touch of rememberance/closure.
Pacing on the suicide mission was good...much higher level of tension than other missions.
I would rate my overall experience as a 95/100...great job of story telling...only gripe was that once you understand the importance of cover and the positioning of your squadmates (and KEEPING them in cover!), most mission/assignments were a breeze...don't think I used a medi-gel during the last half of the game.
I wonder if a three soldier squad makeup even on veteran level made the game a little two easy?
Played the Ultima series in the 80/90's where a good many companions carried over from one game to the next in the series...fostered a real sense of bond/relationship through the adventures with each...ME1/ME2 and ME3 provides the same sense of..." I can't wait to see what happens next". All the threads about why people like/dislike certain squadmates speaks highly of the depth, diversity, personalties that exist in ME.
JUST FINISHED ME2!
