One thing about somebody doubting if evolution has been proven, the answer is yes. There are many examples in the last few years alone. In states in the southwest, farmers/ranchers have killed so many diamond back rattlesnakes by listening for their rattle that new generations of snakes are being born w/o a rattle at all!! (kinda off subject, i know, but this level of ignorance fires me up.)
Thanks for that, it was very interesting and just shows evolution in action.
People should also remember 'bugs' like MRSA etc all came about by overuse of antibiotics...evolution in action folks!!

You are absolutely correct in saying that atheism is a faith. Whatever anyone believes which can't be scientifically proven is a faith.

Evolution is a theory about the origin of species. This is not proven and it is not science.
Two of the most ignorant things ever written on these boards back to back - Kudos!!
Atheism, at it's most basic level is the non-belief in dieties. How that can be classified as "faith" is beyond me as most atheists would tell you that they don't believe in faith whatsoever.
And evolution is a scientific fact. Someone may come along and come up with a better process or clarify the Darwinian Theory of Evolution, but at it's base level it's fact. Einstien came along and discovered a more accurate way to describe gravity and through this disproved Newton's theory. Did that mean that there was no gravity prior to Einstein getting it right? Try asking the Apollo astronauts who landed on the moon using Newton's equations.

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ for me.ImperialOperative wrote...
Christmas isn't a purely christian celebration, especially now that it's more of a consumer event than anything else.
It's a celebration of the awesome presents I get for me.
Also you said you don't want to turn this into a religious war, and yet you did just that. You are a juvenile little schmuck at best, and a pitiful troll at worst.

Actually I never think about it unless a theist brings it up. I can actually get through an whole day, yep I know its hard to believe, without once, not even once, thinking of how I don't believe in a god
Not surprising since faith or lack of faith isn't something you flip on or off like a light switch

And here I thought that it was Christians that were supposed to be intolerant and judgmental.
As for God being silly, of course he is. WTH was he thinking when he came up with the platypus? or string cheese? or the expression on your face when you.... nevermind....

Intolerant of something that doesn't exist? Thats a new one.
Hey, I have no problem with faith, as long as its personal and doesnt interfere with anyone else.

Christianity is a missionary religion, so obviously it's going to interfere with other people.

No, intolerant of someone else's belief of that thing that may or may not exist.

And I agree. I said as much in an earlier post that the "convert or die" nature of religion makes it impossible for there to be philosophical divergences.
Any discussion is usually going to be confrontational by proxy.
And apologies from me if I have come across as some sort of Bible-thumping tyrant. I will always vigorously defend my belief, but I don't try to impose them on anyone. Spirituality is supposed to be a personal journey.

Because most faiths, at least the Abrahamic ones, don't keep it to themeslves, at least the ones who think us non-believers are damned.

For my family, none of which go to church unless for a wedding, and most of us are Athiest or agnostic, it is a time of being together with family and doing the whole gift giving thing. "Jesus" and Christianity factor ZERO into our traditions or beliefs.
Just sayin'...
