I really want a  game room, a bigger mess hall, expanded crew quarters and a bar but I doubt the Alliance would give that to me. How big is the SR2 supposed to be in-universe? The ship looks big but the interior kind of contradicts that, and where do all those crew members sleep and eat? There aren't enough beds!

Maybe they take turns, sleeping according to their shift schedule, rather than each having their own bed? Seems very military for a civilian ship, but they probably need someone at a given post at all times.

I think we'll have a hard time getting Joker to give up the Normandy SR2 (leather seats?), and I think we're not quite done with EDI yet. There is still some mystery about her, and what her restricted programs are - especially those that require "a certain chain of events" in order for them to be accessed. (Note: I actually heard that in the forums, not in-game, so I don't know what that refers to or when/where it was said. BUT if that is what she said, I would want to see some of ME3 developing that somehow, at least just to answer some questions. Are the "circumstances" the foreseen "quitting" of Shepard and "uncooperative attitude" towards Cerberus? Is that exclusively a paragon move?)

Great. Now I've got Voodoo Child stuck in my head.

You mean Voodoo Chile I assume.  Certainly not a bad song to get stuck with.  SR2 wasn't destroyed so don't see why they would build a third.  Now I have wondered if the ship is actually still the Normandy or should we be calling it EDI cause isn't she now the ship?

I'm all for improvement and progress... but change just for the sake of change isn't always necessarily  a good thing.

Nope, it's Voodoo Child. 'Voodoo Chile' is a coloquialism that's stuck. Posted Image

No, the SR2 is already a mini-reaper.

There is a diffrence between changing the combat system so it plays better and is more fluid to giving a new ship (which if you played properly the SR2 is upgraded and can rival a cruiser) just so you can have things like a bar and such. Theres no point and it's just stupid.

If we are forced into a new Normandy again I'm gonna seriously consider not buying ME 3.

Yes I'm sure your decision to buy ME3 is going to be based entirely on what ship you'll be flying. <_<

Soooooo...I hope BioWare doesn't come up with the ME3-Normandy=Reaper.
An even more limping Husk arround the former cockpit, a processor for highspeed-operations next to it and a weapon-configuration-system that's not big on forcing processes.
A genetically perfect husk sitting at a desk on the middledeck...a weapons-aggregate with turian mouthflaps next to it.
A geth/reaper-processer as an addition to the AI-Core, a Drell-Husk in the former life-support and a Scion with an asari-justicar-head as a sidemounted gun at the Normandy.
Down in the machine-room we had a computing-device with sheds of an environmental-suit on it, a Krogan-Husk pacing through the lower deck and a biotic-pulse-generator with tattoos.
And a Saren-MK2 Shepard-Reaper-Avatar.

And instead of "ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL" EDI-Reaper would state "HUSKS ARE TICKELING MY INSIDES!" or "I KNOW, THIS IS A JOKE!"

Not to mention that BioWare would destroy all those interesting AI-Chars like EDI and Legion, who turned out to be very interesting.

All the chars we build up relations between our Shep-Char and them would be...well...gone. Destroyed! Utterly formed into aborminations.
That wouldn't even be emotionally engaging, that would outright suck.

If that's the case in ME3, I'd be off.

I'd like EDI or Normandy SR2.5 to be upgraded extensively. By all species Paragon-Shep helped or with technology from all Species Renegade-Shepard stole.

Anyway, there's no point in discussing this. The whole point with the Normandy being destroyed/Shepard dying in ME2 was to do a "mini-reboot" of the series, so that they could get away with giving you a bigger version of the Normandy, suddenly introducing the new ammo concept and having it be widespread, letting you explore other LIs, getting you out into the Terminus systems, and returning to the status quo of no one believing in the Reapers except Shepard and crew.

We're not going to see something similar in ME3. ME3 is basically going to be ME2.

I think the reason why no one likes this idea is because it would be rehashing ME2 again, thats like BW killing Shepard off at the start of ME3 would all so cause alot of tension here.

While youy might not have been connected to SR2, alot of people are. I upgraded my ship andt he point that SR2's main gun rivals that of dreadnaught power, getting a new ship is just stupid.

I'm standing next to mountain... gonna chop it down with the edge of my hand.

SR-2 Will be in ME3. It would be lame to destroy the Normandy again. At best, they should do a refitting in an Alliance/Cerberus spaceport if BW wants to upgrade her again.

Eh to me the SR-2 is a vulgar Cerberus knockoff and always will be.

If it were up to me I'd be flying in a rebuilt SR-1.

No, it's Voodoo Chile. Unless you mean Voodoo Child (Slight Return), another song on the same album.

Id be all for a new Normandy, provided it was introduced a bit more peacefully than in ME2 hehe. The way i look at it they can easily feed us some excuse to temporarily part us with the Normandy due to Shepard and crew on a shore leave, political hearts and minds trip or whatever. After that we come to find that while we were other wise occupied the council, Cerberus, alliance, etc (perhaps depending on who you let live, sided with, told off in previous games)did us a favor and gave the Normandy a overhaul.

as for what would be cool to see as add ins id take pretty much anything along the lines of
-More nooks and cranny's to explore on down time
-one or two floors dedicated to squad members to facilitate squad interactions (possibly a combination of TES IV: oblivion's ai pathing around and "talking" to each other and the simple squad banter of DA: O)
-little more interactivity with the ship as a whole (build on the ship upgrade idea from ME2 and allow it to have more impact than determining which cinematic you get towards the end of the game)
-have a observation port were you can look out at the current planet your orbiting
-bring back the air lock, yes this fell into the same mind set that hate the elevators but i though it was a really clever way of loading in and out of the normandy will still maintaining immersion.

Likely outcome: SR-2 is tweaked for ME3 with minor upgrades, ends up with you even if you told Cerberus to screw off or not. Paint job would be nice if you're not a big Cerberus fan (Paragon)

Best outcome: SR-2 is destroyed and Shep is given the Quib Quib as a gift from the quarians to stop the reapers.

I very much doubt it, unless they plan on moving EDI to a new ship. She is probably a character thats going to stick with us through ME3 and by the end of 2 she became the ship itself. Also keep in mind that it's one of the most advanced ships out there as it is. That doesnt mean the SR2 wont recieve any cosmetic changes. I'm sure bioware will add a few new things to play with by the time ME3 comes around :)

I think Shep will be keeping the SR-2 Norm, though a part of me thinks it might not survive the climax of the third episode of the Mass Effect saga... just a gut feeling...

It's got pride of place at the head of the fleet; sleek, quick, iconic. Might need a respray though ;)

I'm expecting the Alliance to upgrade the Normandy SR-2 in ME3.
