BW has the funding to pursue the necessary talent inorder to develop their games.

If you honestly think Bioware would have had the money to hire the actors they did in ME1 and 2 without help from EA, then you are REALLY kidding yourself.

Actors like Seth Green, Lance Henriksen, Adam Baldwin, Keith David, Steve Blum, Tricia Helfer, Jennifer Hale, Michael Hogan, Carrie-Anne Moss, Martin Sheen, Yvonne Strahovski, Michael Dorn, Natalia Cigliuti, Claudia Black are NOT ****ing cheap. Especially when you consider ALL of them together. So yes, while Bioware definitely could have made Mass Effect without EA, it wouldn't have been the same, as voice acting plays an integral part of the game.

It's nice knowing that the vermin who pirated Mass Effect 2 will not have access to all the cool DLC extras that I do.

Really? Did it ever occur to you, that you know, DLCs are also pirated? I said this before, and I will say so again, every DLC was there on the torrents the day the game came out, hell the game was on torrents a few days before official release.

DLC is not an anti-pirate measure by any stretch of the imagination.

DLC can be easily downloaded and implented, if you get banned from Xbox Live, you already decided you don't want anything online related and rather get everything for free.

Have a friend, he enjoys his way of gaming.

So over the bulk of my comments, the possible semantics of subsidiary and acquisition is your basis for contention.

Explain to me the difference between the two in this case.

EA completely acquired BW, and kept the BW brand name alive for the subsidiary.

The name of "Bioware" could legal be "EA Bioware" except that the brand "Bioware" is better for the market.

Alot of the actors in the VGIndustry GO to companies when they want to be in a game and sometimes do it for free. Like BioWare said, celebs. go to THEM.

And I don't think BioWare was bought out when they made ME1

Most of those names are voice actor primarily and make their living providing voices for games, TV shows, commercials, and the like. The "pay" is governed by SAG, not so much how big a name may or may not be to you.
Also most of those names already appeared to ME1, so getting and paying them was not an issue when BW was independent, thinking they wouldn't be able to get and pay them for the sequel is illogical.

EA destroyed Westwood, one of the most beloved RTS Producers in the world after they purchased them. You think an even smaller genre is going to net even remotely the same response?

Mass Effect was published by Microsoft Studios, which would explain the actual instruction booklet and non-crap game case art.

Honestly I do fear EA will screw up the awesomeness that is Mass Effect. They better not interfere with BioWare's work in a bad way or I will never buy an EA product ever again. Like if they rush BioWare to release ME3 early or something, or they don't allow them to include certain things. I would be super pissed.

Not Mass Effect related.

End of line.
