Hey, chill a little. Sabriana's said several times she doesn't hate Leliana or is trying to attack her - or fight with anybody. She was frustrated in earlier posts and already admitted thus and we've moved on. She's trying to have a discussion over why more of the fanbase seems to give Leliana more leeway than Zevran for similar acts/pasts.

Not everyone's going to remember all the details of the characters or interpret certain things the same. There's no need to drag the topic into flame-slinging again.

One attempts to kill you when you meet him. He then offers you his usefulness through an oath. He is rather honest with you, possibly to become friends either to kill you, or to actually become friends. He's also acknowledges his regrets. In the end your suspicisions can always persist, but the longer he's there the less chance there seems for betrayal. More so with the Crows following him. And then comes his friend offering him the chance to return with the crows. With overall relatively low approval he declines to protect you. Against his former friend. He reveals his past, and if convinced stays with you even though he doesn't have to.



Leliana joins you out of a vision she appearantly recieved in Lothering. She also joins on a good note attempting to protect you from Loghain's soldiers. She's happy to ally herself with a Grey Warden. She lies to you about what she is, but eventually tells you what occured. She admits to being a bard, and using, manipulating, and killing people. And ENJOYING it. Furthermore she is attacked by her former lover. Then she asks you to take time out of stopping the Blight, to put an ends to her past if possible. Upon arriving to Mar's house she tries to give you doubts, while Leliana tries to debunk them. Upon returning to camp either after killing or sparing Mar, Leliana tells you how she feels about the whole expierence. From here she can be told to believe in the lie and disguise of the chantry sister, or the truth of being the bard who enjoys the murder, and killing. And as long as she stays with you she can continue to kill. Your suspicisions on what her real intention will never really end.



Leliana And Zevran are both awesome although, I perfer Zevran if I had to give my life to someone.

Ok. I'm a rabid Zevran fan-girl, and I am getting very tired of having to defend him to the homophobics and the one's who can't see their own thoughts in front of their eyes.

Leliana is a bard. She grew up in a wealthy household. She was never tortured or abused. She was not a slave her entire life. She choose to become a bard, and would do any- and everything to please the woman she loved.

She is very enthusiastic about her chosen life-style. She describes how she loved the 'hunt', the 'seduction' and the 'killing' of men.

She lived that way because she chose it. Not because she was a slave. Not because she had no other choice. She lies to the PC from the beginning on. No one forced her into anything. She fell for a woman, and did anything to please her. Unlike Zevran, she describes torture as being a factor.

After meeting Majorlaine, she describes how much she loved her life-style. Unlike Zevran, who reveals that he regrets many things, she practically gushes about her joy about being a bard. Why is it forgiveable to her, but Zevran gets condemned? I really would like some input here, thank you.

Well the simple answer would be because she has T****** and can get away with it.

Oh I know, thats why my male warden picked Morrigan over Leliana (as heart wrenching as that was)

And they where both shapeshifters...   lulz

(love the look on your warden's face in that, oddly reminds me of my bf.... kind of weird actually... oh dear maker if he knew about my obession with Leliana )

Bahahaha. XD My mage only cared for Leliana (befriended Morrigan though), but Morrigan got the wrong idea and he had to turn her down. People usually get ninja-loved by Leliana. I got ninja'd by the witch.

I totally got ninja'd by  her the first time... although I really didn't care. Especially since Alistair was becoming a bit boring and I sensed the impending doom of relationship between a bastard son of a king and a dalish elf. Of course it makes even more sense I leave him for the chantry girl.  That totally makes sense.

  Nah I figured Morrigan needed some loving, as much as she doesnt want it, my warden wouldn't take no for an answer. And then she denied him tent time and he got sad... and saw Leliana in the distance... (Zevran too but i dont want to talk about that again EVAH)

My Dalish was my first Warden and he romanced Morrigan, so she didn't get ignored, she just got somebody else. Alistair went to my only female Warden - Cousland (real original, I know, but I played her before the mass influx of Alistair/Cousland art and fiction), and Zevran's got my female city elf.

But Leliana's the one who gets my Amell, and he's the only one I've replayed several times all the way through - and I think she's partly to blame, heh.

Oh my fem cousland was mean. She romanced Leliana and dumped her right when she found out Alistair was practically heir to the throne. I mean Leliana practically asks the warden to be with him anyway... 

But yeah I know how you feel. Thats how I feel with my Dalish, Leliana is hers and only hers.  I always imagined my Dalish as innocent and curious about all other types of people and kind of sick of her own people's hostility.  But if someone was mean to her .... out came the inner savage.

My fem Cousland, like my Dalish, was a giant gray area. Good intentions most of the time, but more than willing to be a total b*tch if the situation called for it.

Legam Amell's a sofie by contrast, so Leliana was quite appealing to him for various reasons. He'd stand up for her when he needed to, but I think she actually protects him more often than he does her. Mages are pretty squishy if you get them up close, after all - and early game Legam often ran around in panicked circles during combat. xD

Hmm, I've yet to play my FemDalish. She is on ice, because I'm stuck. I've no clue how she feels about the 'Tamlen' situation. I think she would be angry with Duncan, because I feel that Tamlen was more or less waved aside by him. Granted, sticking his fingers into a very weird mirror is not smart, but still....

I'm especially clue-less because I inadvertently got spoiled by reading a post regarding Tamlen later on in the Main Quests. *sigh*

Granted, Leliana did get tortured, but not througout her entire life. I do not hate her, although she does spend a lot of time in camp. I would never even think of killing her, that's why I cheated (sort of) with the ashes (the 'save/reload' bit).

She will also not get hardened, which my PC did once, also inadvertently. Her behavior afterward seriously crept me out. None of my PCs ignore her, and she gets all her presents and her personal quest.

Although, no Shmooples. I'm drawing the line at Shmooples. Did it once and wished Oghren would roast the noisy pig-bunny.

Leliana WAS tortured, for sure. But she was able to escape from it as well. Zevran was first in a wh*rehouse (and there are a few dialogs that say that that is when he learned about sex and techniques), and then torture was a part of his training as a crow. There was no escape, no hope of escape -- that was his life. That in and of itself is a huge difference between the two.



I agree about not hardening Leliana. The only real advantage to it is she's more open to sharing your warden's bed.
