Sabriana - from some of the last few posts, it seems like any newcomers are only reading the first page or so (though I don't blame them for not digging through 20+ pages of discussion) and see only your early, frustrated responses and completely miss the intent of the topic.



Perhaps you should edit in an addendum to clarify what you mean or something to your first post? Maybe there will be less confusion if you did so. Or less random trolling (mentioning you're a "rabid Zevran fangirl" only coaxes in the trolls to try and harass you, I think).

It's something to think about, DR. Although I'm not going to renounce my preference for a character. I usually ignore trolls and flame-baiters. Unless I'm already steamed

But not tonight, I'm really tired, and it's getting close to midnight. Not a bad idea though, although the thread has calmed down, and seems to be nearing its end. Unless Leliana (or Zevran, or both) suddenly do something completely new and unexpected, hehe.

Kind of funny, considering your first post here is filled with blatant misinformation and obvious bashing, both classic signs of trolling I understand your intentions were different, though you may still want to edit it, considering it can yet generate a lot of flames from people, who respond only to the first post.

Liquidcz, unless you've spent time in the Zevran forums, you have no clue really as to true trolling! I guess we have far thicker skins when it comes to our favorite character, because if we let ourselves get upset over something even 10x as inflammatory as what Sabriana wrote there, we'd spend our entire days on the forum bleeding all over the place and screaming and being miserable. Then we'd have to die in our misery.

Now, you may not LIKE what she wrote, but it really isn't inaccurate so much as a different perception. And it had a context when she first wrote it, which fortunately, is no longer on the front page.

Edit: That's not to say that I don't understand why someone who loves Leliana would be upset over it.  But it's really not that bad!  Really, I'd be actually pretty happy if something like that could be called a troll in regards to Zevran!

I had read enough of the Justifying Zevran topic to understand what sparked this one, so when I read this topic, I wasn't personally offended, but I did a little by the tone the first few pages were in, because I could see easily how it could be misconstrued by other Leliana fans... And it really is an interesting topic/debate/whatever... It's just that so few people got what Sabriana was trying to say, probably because of the apparent tone in the first few pages.

DR, you do make an excellent point. Trolls will be trolls, and stalkers will be stalkers, unfortunately. I guess I'm always surprised when someone is surprised by trolls appearing in a thread that has Zevran's name in it -- I'm just so completely used to them. I was really glad when the anger died down, though. I just don't think that Leliana CAN be criticized, gently or no, without upsetting a lot of people. She brings out the protective for sure!

Edit: For us more rabid of the Zevran fangirls, we're actually just as protective because as you know, Zevran's story is so horrific.  It's just that we can't let ourselves get upset by people who either have a differing opinion OR by our trolls.  Life is way too short for that!

I don't think it would hurt to edit the first post a little. You don't have to change the point of it, but considering the first few pages did get a little heated, I think some people will be inclined to take it the wrong way. And seeing as this thread has become quite peaceful, it's nice to not have that interrupted by people responding to the first post without reading further. =)

I like Zevran, but not to the point where I would sift through the hundreds of pages of threads about him I can perfectly accept the fact that someone doesn't like Leliana and I stopped being upset about it long ago, though it's still a bit unnerving to see bashing her using arguments, that are simply wrong. Now I don't want to get into analyzing the first post again, but some of the information there is indeed wrong.

Beside Wynne, I do not think anyone in the game in the game is pure. Leiliana admits to you that she will lie to you about other things, but sometimes when I play she is a great character to be with. I always thought there should be option to get Alistair and her together, perhaps in the future expansions.

Well, I simply have to say that I adore Leliana. She's a sweet, quirky girl....but she's not innocent, and I like that about her. The lesbian sidekick is my favorite Origins companion, and it's disappointing that she won't return in Awakening.

Dang, I didn't expect so many to post while I was out after it being slow all day. xD



What I simply meant by editing the original post was adding to it to better explain what she meant; not to delete anything from it. If Sabriana did that... The next few posts would feel rather random. XD



And of course some people would always get defensive. My main concern is people completely missing the point, because the actual original topic doesn't get a lot of valid (as in, related to it) responses. Better to have a few super defensive fans and trolls popping up once in a while than a whole slew of people getting the wrong idea, and the topic getting nowhere at all.

... Does that make sense? I'm not sure if I'm articulating myself quite right.
