I have a core i7 920 cpu.
I've been doing the affinity thing for DA ever since I installed it. It's the one where you alt-tab out of the game, go into your task manager, right-click daorigins.exe *32 and set processor to 4,5,6,7 (turn off 0,1,2,3). It has become second nature by now, lol. I do it to daupdater.exe as well though it's probably unecessary. Not really a big deal, more like a minor annoyance.
If I don't do this DA will crash 100% of the time within 30 minutes. However, with this fix, it doesn't crash at all.
I was wondering if 1. Are there are other core i7 owners who still do this? and 2. Whether another fix/resolution/patch has been released/discovered yet?
Thanks
Core i7 owners and the affinity fix

I can confirm: the issue is still existent with patch 1.05. Dragon Age: Origins crashes when opening the inventory on my Core i7-860, Radeon HD 5850, Windows 7 x64. My solution is starting the game with a batch file with this command:
start "" /affinity 1 "C:\\Games\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\daorigins.exe"
start "" /affinity 1 "C:\\Games\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\daorigins.exe"
