God, everytime I hear/see Ser Cauthrien's name I want to punch a baby. It pisses me off so much when she says, "...your betters are talking.", all I wanted was aline afterwards that simply stated, "F*** off, I am a Grey Warden. I am the betters."

..um...let me rephrase that... Being a Grey Warden is a commitment she can't wriggle without  a sarcastic Witch of the Wilds as a bestie, a super high pursuasion, and a LI who's willing.  I just hope the PC has the opportunity to tell her that there was nothing fun or glorious about their rise to "fame." Alyson loved her companions and helped to save the country....but she'd give anything to play with Oren, spar with Fergus, and walk with her parents one more time.

At worst, she's probably a female version of Jory. But at best, in her eyes, we are Duncan. Now THAT I can totally get behind. Worship meeeeee!

About damn time we got a female fighter! Nothing in the trailer really made her stand out. I'm sure she's not gonna be as boreing and strait foward as the trailer made her out to be.

Sadly I'll have to room for her in my first playthrough Oghren will be the warrior at my side. On the 2nd playthrough I'll certainly take her along!

I am female, and, yes, while recruiting, I would take a male character first - simply because bad writing doesn't show itself as much on male chars as on female ones. More than that, Wynne and Leliana were the weakest chars in Origins character-wise, and now the same writer is probably going to repeat her mistakes in Awakening. I am disappointed.

@Gilsa: My PC (and I) will have to remember Wynne's regret in that case...patience patience patience! lol

@Kulyok: Wynne was the only other female character I had in my DAO party, but that was because I needed a magical mobile bandaid... I didn't really have a problem with the writing for the others. All the comments and conversations Leiliana, Morrigan, and Shale had fit their personalities well. Was there any incidence in particular? Mhairi doesn't look like she'll fit anywhere in my party; I'll recruit her but I probably won't use her.

Thumbs up on the name! I really enjoy Irish, Celtic, Scottish, Gaelic names on fantasy "medeival" characters (unlike Anders...). There's now enough people to make an all women party. Looking good.

Though I thought Mhairi was pronounced a little more on the lines of Mary.

Hmmmm, interesting. She seems almost like the female version of Jory - all starstruck and filled with dreams of glory. Hopefulyl she isn't destined for the same fate. It will be interesting to see a character who *does* think of the Wardens as heroes and has to have that vision, possibly, shattered by some rather harsh and cruel decisions. I mean, we had Alistair, who kind of did think that way for all his stating otherwise, but you knwo what I mean.

She really does seem like Bioware's answer to everyone wanting Ser Cauthrien on their party.

I never thought about it that way before.   Its the classic war movie idea, you start off as the raw recruit but by the end of the story you're the one teaching the next wave of recruits.

I'm really look forward to this game.

Don't we already have a new warrior(and a female, for that matter) in Sigrun? I would have liked to see a new Rogue/Archer character. That's the only thing missing after seeing two new mages and three warriors(including Oghren) in the party.

Sigrun is a rogue I think. But yay - now can leave the vile Oghren permanently in camp.

Sigrun is a rogue - albeit a very melee-centric warrior-type rogue. She's (probably) the new Legionaire Scout specialisation, which seems to be a STR and CON rogue. I'm willing to bet that Mhairi is the Guardian spec, if any of the new ones. It just seems like she would.

Yup, she was. Nonetheless, most of the previews (bar one, which seemed to be the most confused in general), and the interviews with Fernando Melo all stated she was a rogue. The remianing one review said she was a warrior, but was probably making a judgement based on appearance, as the reviewer didn't seem to have had much experience with DA.

My guess is that the legionair scout spec is something like the arcane warrior, making either cunning or dexterity be used instead of the strength for weapons and armors. Which would make rogues seriously too overpowered. OR she's just a VERY strong rogue. For now, we have two mages, 2 warriors and one rogue. Another rogue will be coming shortly I guess, which for some reason I think it will be a shadow, and for some reason, I expect yet another sword and shield warrior, AKA the bald guy. Or Mhairi is able to transform into a male at will... which would ruin every charm I see in her.
