It actually sounded like Oghren and Sigrun were bantering before they clicked on the cinematic thing. I don't think they got rid of it, it sounded to me like they made it where actual cutscenes were activated, rather than random. But the banter is still there.Brockololly wrote...

Why oh Why did you take away the random companion banter? Why do we now have to click an item to get companions to converse?
Add that to the 'increased regen times so you can get back in action quicker' and it looks like you are going the ME 2 route of slowly removing the RPG from the game and turning it into an action game.
Yeah, I am jaded. I love Dragon Age - the banter was a great part of it... now I have to click an item to get it to happen. How was banter interrupting people?! Who didn't like it?! Also my regen was just fine, why make it faster?
I'm not sure they got rid of the random banter- I think they just added the Mass Effect style conversation points, at least I pray that they didn't get rid of the random banter!

Yes, just because two things are changed means it is no longer an RPG.
I was being generalistic - didn't say its no longer an RPG. They are changing things to 'keep things moving' - changing the formula of the game, to me that is trending it towards more action. Obviously it is still an RPG and will probably remain one (it doesn't have the FPSness of ME that they can 'refine' on). Just my opinion on the changes - no one has to agree w/ me [and people who don't are just as valid in their opinion].
I will probably still get the expansion, but the changes are... odd to me.

I'm not sure if it counts as a confirm, but they said that "you start at level 18 at least".Bryy_Miller wrote...

I'm concerned about this as well. I got ME2 launch day and after playing it a little (DA:O has stolen almost all my free time) I am not thrilled at the direction of that series. I dont think we will have to worry about this until Dragon Age 2 though, Awakening will be awesome as will anything else that comes out before Dragon Age 2.
Who knows, with any luck they will keep the core of Dragon Age intact all the way through the series and improve on the bugs etc. If not then we will know about it early. The ME2 changes have taught us 1 important thing, no more pre-orders. Wait until the game has been out a few days, read the boards here and then decide if you think it's worth buying.

It's all done. The only question I got answered for ya was "Someone'd better ask wether Sandal and Bodahn will be appearing in awakening." The answer was... NO! They wanted to add them, they had discussions about it, and they walk around saying "enchantment?" often, but they decided not to add them in the end.
Which makes little to no sense.....

I'll miss Sandal. I was hoping to learn what happened to all of those dead Darkspawn during the finale...

This is what I heard as well. There was some random banter between Oghren and Sigrun going on when they first entered the level, and another banter scene (I think it was actually just Sigrun speaking to the PC) upon examining the location. So I'm pretty sure random banter is still a go.

What they didn't ever tell us was that Enchantment, when used on living object is fatal. So Sandal performed the enchantment ritual on all those Darkspawn and obliterated them instantly.

That is correct. There is still banter as there was in Origins, in addition to the conversations triggered by in-game objects.keginkc wrote...

Bodahn being dead is very possible, never saw him when the battle started. And Sandal had a bunch of darkspawn corpses around him, so that's possible too.. I just don't understand how they could let that remain unanswered.. What happened with all the darkspawn there..?
I was very curious about that as well. You cannot imagine my shock when I charge into that area ready to kill everything and see of all people.... Sandal, surrounded by corpses with no explanation of how or why. Great moment in the game but truly sad that it seems this mystery will remain unsolved.
