However, personally, I wouldn't touch it, as MMO's are not my thing (never touched WoW either).

to be honest I'd love to see one but not lame average mmo grinding boring junk
if you compare most mmos to some fairytale - let's say Snow White
just imagine how Snow White would look in average mmo setting
10,000 Snow Whites, 5000 dwarfs, 7000 Princes, and 5000 evil witches...
or imagine beauty of creative names in ME MMO:
xXxShepardxXx
oOShepparrdOo
Shep123
Shepie69
you get the picture
then it's a lot about comunity - in some MMOs I tried things can be really bad
I'm not talking about being PKed looted or such
but there are tons of people who only try to abuse bugs, leech and then some really cool features become ruined (sometimes even removed) because of (unfortunately not small) group of lazy abusers
there is this big problem with quests that all look same and giving same tasks to tons of people just looks wrong
imagine if ME suddenly becomes a MMO over night
would we all get a chance to save the world? or even to get in Shep's team?
MMO ME could still be nice game but to make it really enjoyable it would need some way more original quest / story system than MMOs that are available today
or shall I call them "events"
usualy those are announced so there is no surprise - if for example it is announced:
in next weeks patch you will have a chance to save the world!!!
calling all Sheppards to go to planet XXXX and kill bad guy ZZZZ thousands of times because he has memory problems and he keeps forgetting he was killed just few moments ago
if there are some big intergalactic or interplanetary wars, if you have to go through heavy training (not just grinding but something that involves players skill) to join the military or if you show your fighting or politics skills get a chance to some day get higher ranks (again, not "level based" with unlimited number of council members - more like something that can be done through let's say comunity voting and with limited positions, if there are random event quests (for example some GM picks you up and sends you on unique missions), if there would be space ship fights (not like eve more like fps style) I would definitely love it
PS sorry for long post v()

actually.... instead of going the mmo route why not release additional side stories between 2 and 3 and beyond 3 but only keep them exclusive to xboxlive? imagine mass effect on a bigger scale where lets say alexdsr plays as shepard but i can also play as a council member making decisions leading into alex's shepard charachter? picture one huge mass effect interaction game online with the same shooter/rpg elements

On one hand, I love the idea. On the other hand I look at what WoW did to the Warcraft world lore and despair.
