Let me start by saying how disappointed i am at Bioware for not letting me have the option to keep Eamon in a comma by throwing the Sacred Ashes out a window and tellin everyone i found the urn but there were no ashes left.
I've noticed on a few threads some people stating that Eamon is power hungry and only wants our deal Al on the throne in a quest for more power.  However, in a playthrough I finished not too long ago i decided to stay on Al's court to help him out and then I approached Eamon at post-coronation.  Eamon says he's going back to Redcliffe since I'm pretty much serving as Al's advisor and he wouldn't be needed at court if this was this case.
Now if Eamon truly wanted power wouldn't he stay in Denerim and play advisor to Al? Truly? Truly truly truly?

If there's something I missed please feel free to let me have it with zero remorse. Posted Image

Heh heh. Yes, I don't like Eamon at all. You can argue that he is just a traditionalist who believes a Theirin must be on the throne at whatever cost, but the fact he pretty much pushes Alistair at the throne (against Alistair's wishes) despite the fact Anora's a popular and effective queen (I am going by what is said in game to this effect, not my own opinon here) is highly dubious. He treats Alistair like crap because his cow of an Orlesian wife suspects Alistair is Eamon's bastard and hates him, yet once Cailan is dead, suddenly Eamon wants Al to dance to his tune. Whether it's a grab for power or just his beliefs about duty and royal blood is neither here nor there - his actions are not commendable in either case.

I would dearly love to have the option to leave him in a coma (as David Gaider said in that very long Loghain thread, Loghain just wanted to knock him out, so the poison wasn't going to kill him - which is a shame) and I must admit I take some pleasure in letting his silly wife sacrifice herself to save Connor.

What was disappointing in my last playthrough (human noble lets Loghain live and gets engaged to Anora) is that Eamon doesn't react at all. You'd have thought he'd at least have something to say when Alistair is threatened with execution, or walks out never to be seen again (which is what happened in my game - I'm too much of a softy to let Alistair die). He says absolutely nothing and still invites Anora, the Warden and Loghain to stay at his estate and in Redcliffe. Hilarious.

I gav the order for Al's execution once just to see what he would say and it was so sad I can never do it again. The way he delivered the line was so... ... heart wrenching I wanted to change my mind immediately hehe

I don't think any of the characters really gave a d*mn about Alistair. If he sacrifices himself, Wynne is the only one to mention his death and even then, she doesn't even sound sad. More like "Oh, what a sha-- Oooo is that cider I see!?"

Alistair got no luvin' from anyone except the PC if you chose to befriend/romance him. He's a tool to Eamon and comedic relief to the rest of the companions, but never anything more than a footnote. Poor guy.

Agreed.  Alistair dies is the SUCKIEST ending ever to this game.
