My take is that she is there to spy on the mission for Cerberus but really she is there as another excuse to put a female in g-string then gyrate around and shove her clevage into the face of the player. BioWare's sense of sexy is adolescent male, come to think of it so the humour in the game. I am surprised that that no one farted in the game but then farting was the rage in games four years ago.

The rest of the "crew" is too busy working to stand around and gossip like Kelly. They're pressing fake buttons, watching the food cook, working on the engine. Kelly stands there and tells me I've read all my messages. Thanks, Kelly. Really helping the team there.

I would love a way to get rid of Kelly without killing half my crew to do it. She drives me nuts, first thing my Shep does when she gets back on the Normandy is go up to her cabin and check her messages, followed by feeding the fish, the going and talking to the squad, Joker and Chakawas. What do I need Kelly for again? Oh and my Shep is quite happy with Kaidan and has no intention of messing around with that skank.
