I don't think a mage / rogue would really work. magic in DA...just isn't subtle. it works in the Elder Scrolls, partially because you can make your own spells (5 pts of damage every sec for minutes, with self invisibility? works for me).
Rouges as a class suck... can i get a hell ya!

I think it would work, it just depends on what spells they would offer for the specialization. Plotwise it would work. A mage on the run could certainly use some rogue skills to stay evasive. Or a rogue, used to being evasive might develope mage skills as they mature (Connor). As for magic not being subtle, several apprentice characters in the Mage origin mention not being able to conjure much magic. Is it a weaker connection to the Fade or less self control? I'd suppose it is the prior considering there are talented mages who don't show much self control or caution (Jowan).
So...that said, I think it's a viable specialization if Bioware wants to put a little effort into making it.

fair enough. It's an interesting idea, at least.
