Maybe that Salarian GameStop really was giving us hints at the franchise...glacier1701 wrote...
Personally I think that it will be called Mass Effect: Alliance Corsair. Lots of possibilities there just with that title. Just check out the game seller on the citadel for a brief intro to the game.

Once the Mass Effect trilogy ends, BioWare could easily set up a nice story for an RTS. It can be similar to Starcraft or Supreme Commander in gameplay.UPDATE (5/29): Looks like BioWare is hiring a multiplayer programmer. Are they going to add multiplayer to Mass Effect 3, *or* are they beginning work on a new RTS to follow up the Mass Effect trilogy?

It seems rather late to start a multiplayer function (wouldn't they have started hiring before ME3 started development?), and a balanced RTS game takes a long time to make.
Possible Factions?
-Systems Alliance (Human)
-Citadel Fleet (Asari, Turian, Salarian)
-Terminus Systems (Batarians)
-Geth Heretics (Geth)
-Skyllian Verge (Blood Pack Krogan/Blue Suns)
-Rannoch Armada (Quarians/True Geth Alliance)
-Rachni Cluster (Rachni)

I always thought that co-op would be a nice idea for ME2. Not through the whole game, but replaying some missions with friends? Cool. We all know, that our companions are not brightest minds in battle. Just imagine if one of your friends plays as Legion sniping mercs from big distance, and meanwhile your other pal flanks them as Grunt.
Of course, difficulty would need to rise up dramatically. Insanity squared. 3 times number of enemies...
There are also other possibilities. Not only can live friends be on the same team, there are some missions that can make players go in separate teams. Like Virmire, where one player has to survive while the other shoots his way into Saren's base. Or two teams going through Collector Base. Or even one player holding the line while other aborts the baby Reaper.
I think that would be cool. Kinda L4D co-operation TPP shooter.
That would make an MMO just as improbable - you don't see many of those on consoles, either.CmdrFenix83 wrote...
Sounds like a Halo Wars attempt for the Mass Effect world. In other words... moderately decent story, really simple and boring game. They won't make the game PC exclusive, and everyone knows consoles and RTS do not mix.

Unless it's a MMOFPS or MMOTPS that they're planning for Mass Effect 4... (do those even exist?)
However, The Old Republic illustrates that BioWare doesn't have any qualms over taking a game made on both console and PC and using a new genre on the series as a PC-only game. That makes the chances of another MMORPG very low, as well lowering the chances of another MMO altogether. BioWare still doesn't know yet whether their MMO will be able to compete with World of Warcraft, but they're putting a lot of resources intoCmdrFenix83 wrote...

Uh.. Planetside, I think... I suppose you might count MAG on PS3... dunno. MMO on the other hand, TOR is an MMO yet KotOR and KotOR2 were both console and PC. Still, if it's not an MMO, it'll most definitely be made multiplatform.
I agree. I'd love to see a TPS in the future, that expands on the combat mechanics of ME2 (and 3, once that is released).CmdrFenix83 wrote...
After ME3, how about something like... "Mass Effect: Alliance Marines"? Like a 2-4-person co-operative shooter/rpg from the ground up? No teammates or squad except the other players? Could even use practically all of ME2's game mechanics.
I'd buy that.
Call of Duty isn't an RTS.PARAGON87 wrote...
I do NOT want Mass Effect to be taken in the same direction as Call of Duty.

The job recruitment says "multiple hardware platforms", so if that job is for an RTS, we'll likely see it on the console as well.Captain Cornhole wrote...
In my opinion no RTS should be made for the consoles. I loved HaloWars and SupremeCommander, but dumbing it down for the console takes aways from the game's potential.
At anyrate if Bioware made a Mass Effect RTS it should be called Supreme Shepard. Kind of a call out to SUPCOM and the title would stand out and also be a joke too.
That said, I think a major part of the game should be space combat.
And for the Reapers I think of course building a fleet of Reapers would be unfair so i suggest:
Land Wise: Heritic Geth, Husks, and Collectors are your units.
Space Wise: Your light (and cheap) space craft would be Geth, and while you progress through the teirs you will gain access to higher end Geth Dreadnaughts and the not as Powerfull Reaper ships. While for the big bucks you can spend you credits to purchase Reaper Dreadnaughts (like sovereign).
What say you?
