Ahh , i wouldn't like to see mass effect turn into this , but i can't really see it happhening..
It won't be the Mass Effect Trilogy (Shpeard - Reaper story) with the multiplayer element. But I can see about half a dozen spin off genres over the next ten years. EA only bought BioWare for the Mass Effect franchise, so you can count on them pushing hard to get it into the Multiplayer Shooter crowd (among others). As long as BioWare maintains it's high level of quality control I can't see anything wrong with expanding the genre and story.

So campaign wise it should most likely tell the events during the: First Contact War, Edin Prime War, and What ever massive Conflict there is between the Reapers in ME3.
And have your main factions being the
Systems Alliance
Turians
Citidel Alliance (Asari, Salarian, Volus, Hanar and Elcor)
Quarians
True geth
Heritics
Reapers
I also think covering the Rachni War and Krogen Rebellions would be sweat for a expansion or DLC.

RTS? No way. It's going to be an MMO, and my guess is that all of the major plot points are going to culminate in some sort of stupid ALL OUT WAR which will provide the basis for Mass Effect Online or whatever.

Why would BioWare announce another MMO next year when they're going to release The Old Republic in the same time-frame? They don't even know if that will be successful yet.searanox wrote...

And it would make krogan a viable faction if before the genophage, maybe it could be built around early rachni wars, then krogan rebellions in SP.

So the citadel will probably be blown up in ME3 to destroy central politics.
You heard it here first.

Probably be post-reapers and be a big struggle for who takes over.

I agree though, they'd set it up like that. Shepard will likely have the chance to die in ME3 in order to defeat the Reapers, and the RTS would consider that canon. The galaxy gets to enjoy destroying each other as the result of Shepard removing their 'salvation'.

Judging by my predictions, if the ME RTS comes out, it will be bad.
A Mass Effect after 3 should be another shooter RPG were you can choose your species. The gameplay of ME and the concept of DA.

BioWare isn't Bungie though - they're more like Blizzard.Cra5y Pineapple wrote...
Lets compare this to another good xbox exclusive shooter and then think that it had three good games and then a crappy RTS.

No, they are not like Blizzard. When Blizzard cut such cool things as medics, firebats and drop pods for the sake of gameplay balance they still include them in the map editor.
I though there must be a post-Reaper ME strategy game too, before ME2 came out. Now I doubt it.

....command and conquer???? HELL NO. man that happens I'll buy the copy just to burn it.
PLEASE dont make a RTs like command and conquer.
Resource gathering is fine on some things, but not for something on the caluber as ME.
Ya actually I was referring to EA butchering the C&C series with C&C4. I assure you I don't want a ME RTS like that. I think ME has the assets to be it's own unique type of RTS (and do it right).
oh my bad, I thought you ment making it into a command anc conquer game.
Well actually, I played, the tiberium wars, and...kane's revenge.....if all the others are the same, then I hate em still. Dont like Age of Empires type of stuff, where strategy is only throuh hoarding resources.
The true RTS are like RTW, frmo activision, now that is strategy....sigh such good games.specially the mods....so nice, so epic.
Rome: Total War an RTS? Man, do you need to get your head out of your ass. Rome: Total War is a turn-based strategy game, not a real-time strategy game.
yeah that totally did not made your point look weaker didn't it.
Is both....although I think somebody mentioned it before.
Or the battles have no strategy whatsoever?
Either way, I hope is more like Star wars Empire at war,,....wonder what volus ships would be lol if any.

The hiring ad specifically stated "BioWare Montreal" and "Mass Effect franchise". BioWare Austin hired their multiplayer programmers a long time ago.Nizzemancer wrote...
So thy are hiring a multiplayer programmer, big deal? They have other games in development besides ME3...SW-TOR ring any bells?

I'm just saying its too early to jump to conclusions. All we really know is that Bioware wants to do something online with Mass Effect.
