i'm about to start my 1st ng+ ever... using the claymore.

think i'll keep inferno ammo and squad cryo .
i've hardly ever used shockwave , so i'll dismiss it.
pull rank 1
champion
crippling slam (for warp bombs with miranda ) .
heavy charge of course.

You need two ranks in shockwave to unlock pull, so if your going to have 5 evolutions (specifically, the ones you've already chosen) then your stuck with one point shockwave.

I play this build all the time and the main reason I take slam is to effectively replace pull.

you're right, forgot about that.
so, i'll have rank 2 SW and the rest on pull .

on Arrival, where being on your own changes the equation a bit , i prefer having area reave , a good alternative to charge . Area drain could also be good , but i've not used it on vanguard .

Anyone here like the GPS/Scimitar assault shotguns better than the Claymore and Eviscerator combat shotguns? The vanguard is an ASSAULT master after all. I personally took assault rifle training on the collector ship.

Not too many post videos with GPS, but lots of love for the Scimitar.

ScroguBlitzen whole strategy for cryoguard is based on Scimitar.  OP in this thread lists not liking to do melee or reload trick for preferring Scimitar.

If you look at Kronner's thread on Object Rho there are at least 4 runs with Scimitar, most recent by jahaa yesterday.

Figured I would bump this thread up to give a pointer to new Vanguard players and to add my very first Video to the list of ones in the thread.  It is a Tali loyalty mission with 30 level Vangurd, toting the Evis Shotgun and Mattock(which I didn't use, lol)  Squad was Zaeed and Tali(of course).

I actually don't put a point in to Cryo ammo, and put a point in to pull. I'm weird like that.

Yeah, I'd be curious to see how other people are thinking about things like damage vs aoe for Nova (which both staggers and does a lot of damage when fully upgraded)  or the new ammo mods.

Mass Effect also makes it difficult to play with different builds without lots of loading / reloading.  Do I really need the extra 15% headshot damage for my shotgun or is it overkills, etc.

Edit: I will provide one minor tip, which may save someone an annoyance:
Retrain all your skills and save before loading into ME3.  Otherwise it keeps a similar distribution of points with Max skills goign to lvl 4.
Sounds nice, but creates a terrible build.  (e.g. You won't get full shield regen after a biotic charge, you're stuck with the points you put in shockwave to get pull, and generally have a suboptimal point distribution)

Hi all,

maybe the question was given, but 14 pages are relatively lot to read and try to find something, that might not be here. Would not be better to just buy some armor for 50 000 credits? Some can give you 30 % to two attributes some can add 20 to three. I was thinking about the, one that adds to shields a lot? I think Terminus, other had CD reduction and power damage +30 %, Inferno I think, and Collector had +20 % health, shield and 20% faster shield regen.

For insanity I guess the shield is good option for survability and nova damage. For extreme damage, the one with power damage and faster CD regen could rule too, Practically permanent Charges.

What do you think and like?

Your question is better suited to the Mass Effect 3 forums. This is a ME2 Vanguard thread.
