Does anyone else feel ripped off? This game is not what I really expected.

24 hours? Were you trying for a speed run? I'm not sure how much time has gone into playing now for me what with all the characters I tried out.. But my First character was 12 hours into it before I got to the first village.

Are you even watching the cutscenes? Do you consistently pick the conversation option that ends the conversation as quickly as possible? I know I'm on the slow side of things, but that's because I try to listen to everything everyone has to say, and read all the codex entries.

If you feel the game doesn't have enough content, and you're not even exploring the content that's there.. I don't see how you can complain. Maybe you're just not into cinematic games at all, because that is where the vast majority of the content lies.. If that's the case, I'm sorry the game wasn't what you expected but that's pretty standard for a bioware game.. For what it is, I think this game is superb, I feel I got everything I paid for and then some.

One thing thats interesting, pre-release I kept seeing people stating each starting origin is about 1-2 hours, can't help but wonder, were these people AFK for an hour or so of that estimate?

Or a pirate

Well I have played 11 hours and 12% of the game shows up as explored so.
If you completed the game in 24 hours you missed ALOT of this game and you did it on "purpose". You can't just "happen" to complete this game that fast so why do you complain?

Well I just have to say that this forum is so full of bad, unconstructive posts and this is very much so one of them.

You feel ripped of? So? Why come here and whine about it? You don't mention a single thing that states why you feel like that. You just want what? People to comfort you? To agree with you? Or do you think you can get you're money back buy posting that nonsense in here?

Bah, shoo away.

so far i really like what bioware has done with this game on the pc.

i am only a few hours in but the gameplay is flawless and

the content is very rich and detailed. the story is compelling

and i like the branching starts each character type receives when

starting a new character. for me, i dont feel ripped off but i can see

all the work that has gone into this game. I am reallly looking forward

to multiplayer online with this game...still waiting for my xbox 360

All I can ask is how?

Litterly how can you stretch it out to 3 hours?

I tried the Human Noble and Mage origins. Both of which were not more than an hour at most.

I'm about 24 hours into the game with maybe an hour of AFK which can be compensated by reloads. I'm 48% complete and 50% explored. Given how the plot is going I'm assuming there's 3-4 more main quests to complete before it all ends.

I easily put in 3 hours in my origin. There is so much dialogue, exploration and codex to explore. How did you manage to beat it in 1 hour?

I'm over 20 hours and I think I'm only around 16%.  Some of you are really cruising through the game.

I found this curious too. I think it was IGN who said that going through all six origins would add another 10 hours to the game. I haven't played most of them but it seems they tend to be much shorter than this. With my mage, I explored pretty much every single part of the area, didn't rush, and still managed to get out of there in about an hour. Perhaps you'll gain another hour reading all those codex entries but I feel that calling it  a part of gameplay is stretching it. If packaged a two-hour long game with a copy of War and Peace, it wouldn't really make it a 50-hour-long game, would it?

For the love of god, how do you people constantly come up with these exact percentages?

Because they are not bothering to listen to what they feel us 'unnecessary' dialogue, they are not reading any codex entries and are just doing what is needed to finish the game.

Yes it is very sad, but for some people, that extra reading and listening hurts their heads.

I'm at 40 hours in with only 24% of the game played. Are you doing a speed run or something? Even doing sidequests at all?

24 hours of gameplay, and I'm just getting out of the Origin stories. Someone must have rushed through without reading anything and skipping all the cutscenes...

That would be sad if it were true.  Why buy a story based RPG and play it like an action RPG?

speed rushing, cheating, playing on easy, skipping sidequests, ignore codex, lore etc, sure its easy to do it that way, and boring also.

*Snipped for clarity of response*

Thats the same for myself, I read the codex, even think I accidently went down the same conversation tree's a couple of times looking for different information branches.

Regarding percentages, think it may have been listed under the character sheet in game, it has stuff like time played, monsters killed etc.

I mean, I even wasted time looking through the character sheet and didnt take much over 45 minutes on the human origin, thats also not skipping dialouge so I just cant understand how some people are getting a couple of hours out of them let alone 3+?
