I tried the Human Noble and Mage origins. Both of which were not more than an hour at most.
I'm about 24 hours into the game with maybe an hour of AFK which can be compensated by reloads. I'm 48% complete and 50% explored. Given how the plot is going I'm assuming there's 3-4 more main quests to complete before it all ends.
I'm over 20 hours and I think I'm only around 16%. Some of you are really cruising through the game.
I'm with you Ralsar. I'm soaking in ever bit of this game. People are just flying through this game and complaining about feeling ripped off?

For the love of god, how do you people constantly come up with these exact percentages?
Take the played time on your save file, open your character window and click on heroic deeds. The first line is % complete of the DA.
Now you obivously can beat the game with <100% but I guess it gives an idea

However not much further into the game I realised this was much much more. The crafting and combat is rather simple if you read the tooltips. The character interaction is quite realistic and adds depth. I like my companians so far too
I quite like the graphics really, some textures blow, but I don't really notice to be honest. Really I'm loving this game a lot, yet i think I need to put more time in with it and wait for the new game smell to wear off.

Does anyone else feel ripped off? This game is not what I really expected.
I agree. marketing was VERY good for a sub-par game.

All I can ask is how?
Litterly how can you stretch it out to 3 hours?
umm i am playing on hard settings so the battles perhaps are more longer and need more pauses (np here i like to pause and develope tactics), i have spoken with everyone even the not named npcs, 2 full explorations of the castle (before and after the ******), i have tryed to pick every item so i explore every inch very methodically, i had loads of codex entries, i took my time to analyze stats and items, organize tactic slots, read everything.
I also like to find secrets .
So i like the combats, i like the conversations, i like to "waste" my time checking stats, items , reading codex and admiring the graphics, so yeah that were my 3 hours.

I easily put in 3 hours in my origin. There is so much dialogue, exploration and codex to explore. How did you manage to beat it in 1 hour?
Because they are not bothering to listen to what they feel us 'unnecessary' dialogue, they are not reading any codex entries and are just doing what is needed to finish the game.
Yes it is very sad, but for some people, that extra reading and listening hurts their heads.
I don't read all Codex entries but I listen to most dialogue. Sorry if it's a fedex quest I'm not going to listen to all the dialogue carefully.
Chanter boards and such also get minimal reading. It's not all that interesting.

I feel like a slower player than everyone here. I'm 4 hours, 13 minutes in at 2% of the game. I'm not even sure if I'm out of the origin story yet, because I'm not sure where it ends. (Human Noble, been wandering around Ostagar for about a half hour. I'm sort of thinking the origin story ended when I got to Ostagar, but I'm not sure.)
Yes, origin stops when you go there.

Right now i'm 7h30min and 7% completed. I'm playing it as it flows...trying to do quests, explore...but i know i miss some bits here and there.
So far great game. Love the graphics (don't know why people complain about that), for me it is truly a spirital successor of BG2.

Well I just have to say that this forum is so full of bad, unconstructive posts and this is very much so one of them.
You feel ripped of? So? Why come here and whine about it? You don't mention a single thing that states why you feel like that. You just want what? People to comfort you? To agree with you? Or do you think you can get you're money back buy posting that nonsense in here?
Bah, shoo away.
well said - I hate to see all these negative comments. Negative people = negative comments. the people who are true RPG fans, I cant imagine them complaining too much if at all about this game - they would only offer constructive criticism.
I decided to go throuh each origin first, stopping at Ostagar then moving on to the next Origin until I find one that I particulary like before carrying on with the main game. Im loving it, taking it slowly savoring every second - I truly love this game. So far each origin has taken me an average of 3 hours. Yes, I could have went through it much much faster, but I wouldnt get the same immersion as I have been.

What"s the point of rushing dialog and story ??
this is no hack'n slash go buy torchlight instead of this one if you want simple but addictive gameplay with no story
personnally i'm playing every origin before really starting the game with my noble warrior
it's give different perspective to the world of ferelden
i've got one left to do (City Elf)
so far it takes me :
Dwarf Commoner : 1:51
Dwarf Noble (the best one so far) : 2:28
Elf Magician : 3:34
Human Noble : 2:02
Elf from the wood : 2:08
approximatively 11 hours and i have not really started the core game!
time to start my last origin now

Sadly, even newspapers and TV news are saying that DA is probably on the longest game ever.
Not only the origins, i'm playing with a friend and we have very different quests because of the classes (i'm a fighter, he's a mage)
