Yeah, the highest possible armor for ANY complete set in the game, 20% dodge, -25% fatigue AND +5 health regeneration are VERY bad. It's not like a tank needs items that allow him to avoid, mitigate or heal any damage. What was I thinking? ;)

Add a decent helmet to WCA or Wade's & The Armor rating on Cailan's won't seem so good anymore.

The armor score can be matched, yes. But 20% dodge is a huge bonus and the health regeration WILL keep your tank alive. I added Lifegiver for another +3 health regeneration and had Alistair taking out [SPOILER]'s Estate completely on his own. Wynne was set to heal him at 50% and she only had to do so three times despite Alistair being surrounded by 10+ enemies for extended periods of time (SnS doesn't excactly shine at killing speed). The enemies included archers, 2handed warriors and overwhelming Mabaris. Try that without any health regeneration.

Well I don't find any regen stats of any items noticeably helpful in game. Only thing I notice is the "Death Blow" Talent that regenerates Stamina. That why I always prefer the WCA over the Wade's. WCA give you 50 + stamina & Wade's 25+. Wade's might have higher regen value, but I don't seem to be able to notice it.

I used Dragonbone Medium Armor on my rogue, I know it isn't the most recommended style to play but it's my playstyle. I found it pretty efficent for my rogue since she took alot of aggro when I used her to flank archers and mages.

I agree with you here. Regeneration doesn't seem a valuable item attribute at first glace. HOWEVER that's mostly due to the very small amounts of regen that you gain from most items. Cailan's armor (+5 health) and his sword+shiled (+5.75 stamina) have huge amounts of regeneration when compared to just about anyting else in the game. In these quantities, regeneration IS noticeable. The armor Set + Lifegiver will give your tank +8 health regeneration which is enough to keep him alive against almost any number of non-elite enemies since they will hardly do more than 1-4 damage per it with is regenerated almost instantly. Elites and bosses are better at packing a punch but they should hit far less often than 10+ white enemies.

As for stamina-reg, there's only one real use: Mages. Give an AW Wades Dragonskin set, Andruil's Blessing, Cailan's sword and shield and a few other goodies and he'll have about +14 Manareg which is more than noticeable. If you use your magic sparingly (only for healing and CC instead of nuking, for instance), you can actually leave Combat magic running all the time and not run out of mana despite its 50% fatigue. I've done this with Wynne even in some of the harder encounters of teh game like Jarvia.

I think the problem is that when you go from Light to Medium armor, you only get a very small armor boost at the cost of significant fatigue penalty.

What does WCA stand for? I'm dense, I guess.

I have to throw in with Vader, Cailan's Armor kicks the snot out of Warden Commander, for tanks. The Warden Commander Armor is still great and would definitely be my preference for a more damage-dealing character.

Cailan's set also have the 15% critical/backstab damage enhancement on the gauntlets so it is not a pure defensive set.

My arcane warrior uses it, though she could equip heavy armor. I just don't like the look of heavy armor on female PCs, especially little elven ones.

I don't like the look of heavy armour on the girls, either, but the medium isn't much better. The massive armour is the only stuff I can find without boobcups.

I don't mind the boob cups, as you put it.  LOL  I like my women warriors still to look like women.  It's one reason I don't like massive armor on them.  Varathorn's Armor is the most attractive lighter armor in the game IMO.

Only on women IMO. It looked great on Wynne when I had it but my male dwarf main just looked gay in it.

It's a concept thing for me, I suppose. Some of my characters are intended to be more feminine; some of my (female) characters are intended to be more masculine types. My fighter-types tend to lean towards the latter, so the boobcups bug me.

Exactly, if you want to be a lawnmower then you should equip Wade's Superior Dragon armor on a Dual Wielding warrior. It's ridiculous.

Tier 4 Light Armor has better armor rating and less fatigue than tier 3 Medium.

Seriously, the Str requirements and the lack of benefits make medium armors utterly pointless.

Wade's superior medium armor has the lowest fatigue of any item in the game.
