Anybody else getting this error & or constant freezing?

The E71 error happens when I try to turn on 360 after the game gets frozen. It will eventually go away after a few minutes or sometimes I have to unplug the power supply from the 360 for it to work. I'm on disc 2 & get constant freezing in different areas almost every 5-10 minutes. The disc has no scratches & I can install to the hard drive cleanly.
When I try to play off hard drive with game
installed it won't even get past red Bioware icon. A message comes up saying for me to download game again. 

I think I've tried everything. I've cleared cache, ran initial setup on hard drive & even went so far as to clear out the dashboard update since that's what supposedly causes E71 error. Install to hard drive, run from cd, play offline/online, play with/without patch & no luck. I know my console is not overheating cause I'm not getting the 3 red rings & I can play other games for hours with no freezing. I don't think it is my hard drive either because I have another game installed on there & it reads off the drive no problem.

Any ideas?

Oh yeah I would try to return it but I got the game as a gift & they said they bought it online so no receipt.

I too get constant freezing in ME2 for the 360. It used to exclusively freeze during Garrus' loyalty mission (like constantly), but now it's happening everywhere. I've tried everything just like you have: installing to the hard drive, running from the DVD, clearing the cache, etc. Nothing helps the problem. These freezes are exclusive to Mass Effect, because I've played many other games on my 360 just fine without any freezes whatsoever.



I am not getting the E71 errors though.

Ok I was able to complete some more missions with the game installed on the hard drive but it's starting to act up again. I deleted from hard drive to run from disc since it kept freezing up. Now E71 error after freeze & constant freezing on disc 2 while playing off the disc. Cleared cache multiple times already.



Any help please?
