I liked Kreia because she was a mentor character, and I love mentor characters. She was all the more fun for me because she actually had interesting lessons. I didn't expect an Ayn Rand-like character in a Star Wars game. Once she told the story about being a Sith Lord, I pretty much knew she'd be a bad guy, but it was still cool to actually get to work with and learn from a former Sith Lord and not be forced to act like a Lawful Stupid Paladin and kill her as soon as she told her story.

Then at least the game should have given me the choice, wether to still trust her or not... I hate stories, where you know you're gonna be betrayed and yet you have to play along for no apparent reason (and no, I did not believe her story about her "channeling" the Force for me or whatever)...

Yeah, the story was insultingly predictable.

A fair point. My character rationalized it with the "I'll take the expert lessons for now and part ways when she runs out of things to teach."

well, but if they don't give me the option to do otherwise, they shouldn't be calling it an RPG... ;)

I thought the ending was fairly characteristic of Obsidian games ("text" resolutions rather than cutscenes).

It worked better in Dragon Age, though. They closed the plotlines nicely in that game.

You're similarly not given the option to get rid of Bastila even though it's pretty obvious she's going to get Princess-napped, either. ;)

Kotor 2 was crap. Sorry.

The Jedi are quite possibly more retarded than the ME council.

I can only read that and imagine you have never seen a cat up-close before. Juhani's race has feline traits, but they are very far off from looking like a cat. They're more like...elves with sharp teeth and cat eyes.

Regardless. I'd hit it. No, scratch that, I'd maul it like a tiger.

You my friend, are a very disturbed person... I was disgusted my that "person", the moment I first laid my eyes on her... ;)
And I actually have had cats all my life, and obviously I was joking... she just looked really stupid... oh no, as long as Bastila is there, she would never stand a chance...

Let me guess. You're also against gay romances in Mass Effect games, agree that the RPG elements in ME2 were "dumbed down," "don't get" those who want to romance alien characters, and think Kelly is a ****.

1) since I mainly play as femshep (can't stand Meer's voice and Hale's is so awesome <3), I don't really care, but I had no problem with it in DAO, tho I did not explore that option... ;)

2) they were... fact... still liked ME 2

3) since I mainly play as femshep (as stated in 1) ;)), of course I romance Liara when I do (maleshep gets Ashely of course ;)). So no.

4) Kelly is cute, hot and I'm totally in love with her...

*Facepalm* No, that's an opinion, and one I don't think is particularly well supported. The lower amount of skill points available and the advent of power evolutions made the skill system far more intricate, in my opinion.

I'm more referring to the linear levels with absolutely nothing to explore besides the quests (Citadel anyone? That was epic in the 1st one, gave you the feeling of freedom, Citadel in ME 2 is a joke) and the rather linear storyline, plus a complete lack of an inventory.
Apart from that I mostly like the new class system...

Illusion created by a lot of empty space, long hallways, and long elevator rides.

Indeed. I like KotOR 2 and Mass Effect 2 better than their first installments. That's a personal similarity, though.

I found that the crew of ME1 and KotOR weren't as interesting as the crews in the sequels, and both sequels improved the gameplay for their respective franchises immensely.

I will admit i agree with you, I do like Kotor2 and ME2 better than the first installments

This.

Also, where you see the lack of an inventory system, I see the lack of a mountain of worthless junk I have to manually break down or sell bit by bit. As I have said in other threads, ME3's inventory system will basically be perfect if they keep the current ME2 system, bring back weapon and armor mods in a positive way (like KotOR or Alpha Protocol), and offer more variety in weapons and armor pieces.

so the answer to an overloaded and crappy inventory system is none at all? I actually like your idea for ME3, but the lack of one in ME2 is disappointing! But I think we can agree, that the inventory systen in ME1 was garbage...
