A Dreadnaught? Are you serious? Next you'll suggest that the Ebon Hawk should have been a warship.

The Normandy is a stealth vessel. It is supposed to be small, fast, and quiet. That's what makes it unique. Keep your glorified battering-ram, I think the Normandy is fine as it is.

You think I'm joking right? I'm not, while the current normandy might be unique, It would stand no chance against a reaper, not to mention a whole reaper army.

Has it occurred to you that there may be another way to stop the Reapers besides shooting them with really big guns? Size isn't everything. The Destiny Ascension was a Dreadnaught, and it was huge. Look how that turned out. The Geth fleet managed to kill it with bug bites. Reapers are huge, and ten times more advanced and heavily armed than the Geth ships.

More likely the Reapers have some kind of weakness that we'll have to uncover in ME3. Or maybe they can be defeated by viruses, like the Geth. Size and firepower aren't always the best solution. One ship, no matter how advanced or heavily armed, is not going to make a difference against an entire fleet of Reapers. Making the Normandy into a Dreadnaught just makes it a bigger target.

And I really don't see the appeal of making the Normandy into a Dreadnaught, game-wise. SR-2 has everything I need. Although it would be cool if you could actually fly it yourself... Better yet, the Normandy could be equipped with some kind of Heavy Fighter, an airborne counterpart to the Hammerhead for space exploration. Just a thought...

@Jayce F; No, the SR2 at the front of a fleet of other frigates would NOT be enough. Please refer to the "Derelict Reaper" mission when the kinetic barriers go up. Choose the Renegade option and listen.... that's right the SR2's main gun will do nothing against Reaper shields. So it is impossible for the SR2 to fight a Reaper... period.

@Aryck1095; Has it occured to you that the Destiny Ascension doesn't have to be destroyed? Yeah in my game it isn't... for further proof click ----> http://masseffect.wi...stiny_Ascension and refer to Trivia line 2. Thanks.

I know, dude. Still, the Ascension only survives if you tell Hackett to save it. Otherwise, it gets destroyed. My point, size and firepower aren't everything.

The Reapers will win no matter how many Dreadnaughts are brought against them. The only way to stop them would be to find their weakness and exploit it. That's what I think we'll have to do in ME3, find out more about the first Reapers, who built them, their original purpose, and how they were built. Makes more sense than gathering a fleet or building a really powerful ship.

Hey, guys. Listen. I got a great idea. Let's make an SR-4 Dyson Sphere. On the way to fight the reapers, the SR-3 Dreadnought is destroyed in a fight with the reapers, and the geth show up, save Shepard and implant him with implants, and let him control the Geth, and create a dyson sphere with stealth capabilities that you can fly into the reaper fleet and fight them with multilasers.

I think it's a pretty cool idea and you can't prove me wrojng.

That would be pretty cool idea but does it have a waffle bar? If it does not then I have just proven you wrong.

Of course it has waffle bars and reapers are allergic to waffles but they try to consume the waffles to create a hybrid waffle-reaper but fail because theres a dyson sphere and we all go pew pew and then there's icecream om nom nom nom.

Does stealth technology even work against the Reapers though? Because if Im not mistaken the SR-1 was spotted by the collectors while in stealth mode.

Going to need a Dreadnought for the final battle. There is a huge difference between the Collector Cruiser (Dreadnought in size) and a Reaper. The capital ships getting sliced in ME1 in the final battle are Alliance CRUISERS, NOT DREADNOUGHTS. Besides the Destiny, we have not seen a single Dread from any race.

I can only drool at the thought of the entire combined force of Citadel Council Dreadnoughts showing up at the final battle in ME3 along with the Human Carriers and two other species who I shall not name.

Shortest battle ever. Sovreign pretty much shrugged off a fleet shooting away at him while he was stationary. Joker mentions that Sovereign makes a turn that hjoker says "would shear any of our ships in half" which speaks to its maneuverability.  Cruisers and Dreds need to be pointed at their target and handlelike a 3 ton truck with no power steering.
It would be like trying to shoot down a humming bird with a howitzer.

Cruisers can't harm a Dreadnought when the Council Species did it, why would it suddenly be different with a Reaper? You need a Dreadnought to kill a Dreadnought. A Dreadnought in ME1 could of sat at the relay and dumped shot after shot into Sov. with the power of 3 Fatmans.

The SR2 will likely be disassociated from Cerberus and and remodeled as the SRX.

The Normandy was already destroyed once so doing that again would not only be lame and lazy but would have no purpose let alone impact. However simply having a new ship wouldn't be such a bad idea, or even just upgrading the SR2.

Cruisers can not harm a Dreadnought? I think the Destiny Ascension would like a word with.
Also good job on missing the point. In a stand up fight the reapers would tear to shreds any opposition with superior defenses, weapons and maneuverability that would make the Normanday pale in comparison.

I personally believe that a Dreadnought was a good Idea when I was playing the first ME1 when the guy on the dock started complaining.

I was like "If we could have bought a Dreadnought, why the **** didn't we!?"

In a war against the reapers, stealth wouldn't do anything for us, so I think the dreadnought would be a great idea! However, it should be similar to the Death Star in design, rather then a huge gigantic ship obliterater, it should be a well balanced massive ship capable of doing damage equal to that of the migrant fleet, or even design it like the Mother ship in Star Craft 2.

You do realize the Geth had Dreadnoughts of their own right? Not Cruisers. They seem small compared to the Destiny Ascension, but it is said the Asari Dreadnoughts are far larger then other races.

That said, the battle of the Citadel was very disadvantageous for the Destiny Ascension. Seeing as it could not navigate the Nebula to get in range to use its main gun. In a normal space fight, a dreadnought could jump in FTL, fly away for a short time, jump out and fire its gun.

What would Shep do on a Dreadnought? Ask Joker to blow something up? The SR2 is just right and I would be pissed if it was blown up again after all the upgrades Shep put into it.

I agree.  If the Normandy is really going to be the lead ship in the fleet that faces down the Reaper armada then more than upgrades will have to be done.  The Normandy would have to under-go a complete refit into something larger and much more powerful than it is now.

And you realize the ships that taken down the Destiny Ascension were Geth dropships or cruisers? or are just cherry picking and ignoring things that do not help your case?

The Geth MAY have dreadnoughts of their own but they were not used in the Battle of the Citadel.

I like the idea of commanding a dreadnought.
