What's new with that? Ok so here's how it goes...

System Specs:
Processor: Intel Core i3 CPU 530 @ 2.93 GHz
6GB of RAM
Dispaly Adapter: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD
Driver Version: Unknown (blank)
Sound Adapter: LG TV (Intel Display Audio) driver version 6.12.0.3034
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
DirectX Version 10.0 (mar 2009) or later.

dunno if i posted all the proper information for this.

Ok so I downloaded via Direct2Download.com, installed it, it didn't work. Patched it to 1.0.2. Didn't work. Ran as an administrater. Didn't work. Ran compatibility Windows XP SP2. Didn't work. Ran direct .exe instead of through launcher. Didn't work.

What happens is 2 different things. Most the time it just closes immediately and reports an error, but this happens when ran through the launcher most the time. The other error is the GPF error. It loads the splash and screen goes black as if it changes the resolution, but just sits there, I alt-tab to find an error had occured.

Here's the GPF error verbatum.

General protection fault!

History: GMatrix2D::Swap() Address = 0x10bb5ed6 (filename not found) [in C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Mass Effect\\Binaries\\MassEffect.exe] Address = 0x1bb73ce4 (filename not found)

Please help me fix this issue. This game looks freaking sweet!

There isn't SUPPOSED  to be any such "resolution", since that POS video chip isn't supposed to be usable.   The game's requirements are very well publicized, and not going to be altered to suit anyone who prefers to purchase trash such as an Intel video chip instead of decent quality.

For Hans, if you do not have a similar bad PC system, you need your own separate message thread, and you need to include the appropriate diagnostic information when you do so.

Minimum System Requirements for Mass Effect on the PC (This varied, depending on whether you looked at EA's site or Bioware's, but both contained video card errors)

Operating System:
Windows XP or Vista

Processor:
2.4+GHZ Intel or 2.0+GHZ AMD

Memory:
1 Gigabyte Ram (XP)
2 Gigabyte Ram (Vista)

Video Card:
NVIDIA GeForce 6 series -- 6800GT or better  (7300, 7600 GS, 8400 GS, and 8500 are below minimum system requirements))

(ATI information was erronneous in extreme.  It should have named the X1650 XT, however.)

Hard Drive Space:
12 Gigabytes

Sound Card:
DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card and drivers
