In Soldier's Peak, there's a writ posted on the wall with the names of all of the rebels. I didn't recognize any of the names, but some of them sounded really familiar. Or silly.

They're the names of the devs who worked on the DLC. You may have seen some of them posting here, which is why they'd  be familiar.

I can neither confirm nor deny that Reared Logarithm has it exactly right.

At the post-coronation the very last thing Sten says is something like, "Where is the cake? I was told there would be cake. The cake is a lie"

Dog fetched me a mushy cake in Redcliffe Castle. I gave it to Sten (it was a gift), but he didn't seem very impressed by it. +1

Hahaha! I got a kick when my Mabari found a pair of faded gold or silver pantaloons. Also the found cake immediately made me think of Portal's infamous cake. Though, that cake can have a different meaning to other people.

Not sure if these have been mentioned.

After the fight in Lothering's tavern, my character spoke to the barkeep and had the option to say, "Sorry about the mess" which is definitely a Han Solo reference.

There's also a Codex (Magi related I think) which starts with, "It is a truth universally acknowledged..." which is a reference to the first line of the novel Pride and Prejudice. I was definitely amused.

The 'Friends of Red Jenny' side quest is bothering me.. Isn't that a reference to the Red John character from The Mentalist TV series?

During "A Paragon of Her Kind" I found a note named "Load Limit Reached" which is basically BioWare making fun of the long elevator rides in Mass Effect. It's about a dwarf named Shepard who kills his companion because he won't stop talking in the lift.

Also at Lake Calenhad two citizens were talking about how one felt they being manipulated by greater beings who controlled there every move.

This.
Also.

Not really sure if it's really an easter egg or not, but anyone noticed how Sandal's face looks oddly similar to Corporal Jenkins in mass effect?

...

and oddly enough, the guy that does Jenkins voice in Mass Effect also did voice acting in DA?

The random encounter with a group of four adventurers. After talking to Adventurer Leader and scaring them off reporting a blood mage for a side quest, he says (paraphrasing), "We're just in it for the experience!"

Bwahaha.

If you walk up to the two dwarves standing on the "stage" in the Orzammar tavern, you can hear a very drunken karaoke rendition of the background music.

Oh yeah I was in the tavern last night and heard that. I was LMAO for a good 5 minutes

Best easter egg ever.

It's a reference to being a game character, controlled by the player (unseen hand). Clicking being the mouse.

Lake Calenhad,

The two guys sitting at the bench to the right of the Spoilt Princess Pub, just behind where the Mage's Collective rep stands, will,

Have a conversation about how they don't feel in control of their own lives and basically imply they suspect they live in a video game.

I always liked how after you destroy the Anvil of the Void Caridin goes the way of the Terminator.

Thumbs up, man! Thumbs up. We should all be as lucky!

Yes, Mass Effect contains an easter egg. Of a game made 1-2 years (I don't remember) after it was. Makes perfect sense.

EDIT: Then again, it's entirely possible you meant that it was foreshadowing, in which case you aren't an idiot. But if it was what I thought first, then yes, you're an idiot.

I also like the "Princess Bride" references :)

Shale saying "Have fun storming the castle!" And the PC dialog option to say "Sten, tear his arms off" when dealing with the merchant who bought Sten's sword outside Orzammar :)

There is a piece of unique equipment purchasable in Orzimmar (I believe it's a plate helm) named "Shadow of the Empire."

The random encounter after leaving Lothering (which is an egg unto itself. L.O.theRing) with two dead travelers, one of whom has a note that says "we should have just taken the damn giant eagles."
