Also the Black Stone Irregulars could be a nod to the Baker Street Irregulars from Sherlock Holmes.

I distinctly remember reading a codex entry or listening to a conversation about Paragon Ortan writing a story about seven dwarfs - but was not able to find it again.
Has anyone else come across this?
I seem to remember this. If you haven't goten a definite answer before I get home from work tonight, I'll go through my codexes and see if I can find it again.

And of course "I must get aid soon. Boo is too young to have to avenge me."

Because they are both big and use big weapons, I keep thinking Minsc's quotes with Sten.
Jump over Sten's sword while you can darkspawn, he won't be as gentle! (Leliana could disagree there though)
Sten will lead with blade and boot... Mabari will take care of the details.

Unlikely. Morrigan bears more resemblance to Morrígan of Irish legend, whose name has no cognate with the Arthurian character. Morrígan of Irish legend was a shapeshifter as the DA:O Morrigan is, and although DA:O Morrigan's forms don't include Irish Morrígan's crow form, the black feathers on DA:O Morrigan's robe may be a reference to that.Zemore wrote...
No one seems to have said it but it was pretty obvious to me Morrigan = Morgan le fayfrom the King Arthur legends and what not.

The legendary axe in the stump haha.
Seemed like it could have come straight out of the Quest for the Holy Grail.
I've not gotten this yet.
It refers to;
Excalibur - King Arthur's legendary sword - The 'Sword in the stone'
No?

well theres suspicions that La fay orginated from that Morrigan but the keystone might be shes combination of both one is a god and shapeshifter but she isnt depicted as devious Cryptic mabye and a war deity war is simple Morrigan however is anything BUT simple shes devious and cunning much like La fay as well as a powerful magic user like La fay ( i dont consider gods having so much magic as just the ablity to bend reality to thier crazy ass whims? mabye im wrong )Tchos wrote...

I'm confused on how people can say someone from this game = someone from another game or movie though. I think some are trying to hard to find comparasins instead of asknowledging that not everything is something recycled.

Well, I've read the speculations about Morgan Le Fay being based on Morrígan, but I've read more persuasive arguments that she was not. But indeed, regardless of whether she originally was or not, many later writers have added to the legends with material that draws the similarities closer, so it may just be a matter of which point you prefer to start from. Same with whether you prefer to use Morgan's English name (Morgan Le Fay), her French name (Fée Morgane), which predates the English version* in Chrétien de Troyes Arthurian stories, or going all the way back to the Latin version "Morgen", which is her first named appearance in any known Arthurian story, in Geoffrey of Monmouth's Vita Merlini. I personally fall in the middle.Zemore wrote...

Also, the earlier Arthurian stories did not cast Morgane as a devious person. She was a much more sympathetic and helpful character than her later incarnations (the familial relations were different as well).
*Small correction: "Fée Morgane" is her modern French name, whereas it appeared as "Morgain, la fee" in Chrétien de Troyes' work. So there's yet another spelling to choose from.

Think of the references as tributes/shout-outs, not recycling. I admit that there are many references I don't get since I'm not familiar with the source material, but I enjoy the ones I understand. Is there some over-reaching on some comparisons? I can't say, since a lot of those are the ones I don't get.
