Now if he'd put this on... www.youtube.com/watch
To hell with the chaffing, I'd have given the boy whiplash
In fact, can I just say this track needs to go in all the love scenes in Shep's loft? It's not engine room floor material, mind you.

Gravity - Vienna Teng
or
Night Ride Across the Caucausus - Loreena McKennitt
The second one has the wandering gypsy feel.

If we're linking Bebop songs, here's a one-two punch for any space romance:Mondo47 wrote...
Garrus could have done with a little help choosing his mood music (and he brought alcohol too... I wonder if he went to Mordin for advice beforehand)...

Yoko Kanno & The Seatbelts - Diamonds (Link)
Yoko Kanno & The Seatbelts - Einstein Groovin' (Link)
Also, I can't help but think of Garrus trying to romance FemShep when I listen to this:
Team Fortress 2 - Petite Chou-Fleur (Link)

Ha! Yes, that last one is pure bad research! All he'd needed was a rose in his teeth too!
Those other two are a bit too hearts-and-flowers for me... if it's horizontal mambo music you're after, it needs a little more gasp-and-shiver... ooohkay, I think I'll stop there

For Tali I like:

On that note, here's a song that might capture the mournful feeling of losing one's homeworld and being forced to drift the stars: Unknown Duduk Piece (Ignore the picture on the video... sigh)
EDIT: Oh, we're after sex music are we? I'll have to think about this...

but this short one seems to sum up how some of the wooing scenes by a male Shepard come across at times.

I feel that this is indisputably the proper song for Thane's character; in fact, I'm fairly certain the character design has been in some way inspired by the lyrics, seeing as the achievement for getting his loyalty shares the name of the song. Analogies can also be found in the various conversations you have with him on the ship.
Here it is: www.youtube.com/watch
(Cat's In The Cradle, originally by Harry Chapin, here covered by Ugly Kid Joe.)

Songs that go along with squadmates.
I don't think the characters can be summed up by any one song, or that one song can be used as a 'theme' for that character. They're not static, they're more like dice; they have many faces that they show to different people. The face you see today might not be the face you see tomorrow. When I'm in combat, any number of hard rock/metal songs could sum up my team-mates. During the quieter, pensive moments of introspection, ballads work better or slower indie songs might work better. It all depends, really.

Nah, my Shepard is going to have a seclusion crisis while on active duty, and have childhood problems bite him in the lower back while he takes drugs to compensate for his lonely void, before putting himself on trial judged by a giant arse.
But perhaps I'm mixing up Eras here.
