Warp Detonation on Armored/Barrier'd enemies?

I've been operating under the assumption that, as long as an enemy is affected by a power like Pull (glowing blue) or Singularity (unable to move and in the radius), then those affects can be detonated by Warp even if the target still has their defenses up and isn't floating. On my current character, though, I'm starting to wonder if I am, in fact, mistaken about this. Is Warp dealing double damage to a Collector Assassin with a full Barrier as long as Pull is making said Assassin stumble and glow blue, for instance?

Warp cannot detonate unless the target is ragdolled by a biotic.
That means it is impossible to detonate on protected enemies.

If you detonate an enemy near someone who is protected, although, it appears that they too get affected by the physics explosion and take damage.

Yes, thats how you can tell you've detonated Warp. If no enemies around the target you tried to detonate take damage, then you didn't detonate the target.

Hm. I was afraid of that. Well, I suppose it's just a matter of turning a single enemy in a crowd into a living bomb, then. Thanks for the swift responses, guys.

Warp does detonate when used against enemies that have Armor and Barrier up. But that's because Warp is strongest against those two defences and doesn't have the detonation force when they aren't effected by a biotic attack.. Lay down a Singularity in a middle of some dudes, hit one guy with Warp, he blows up and has the potential of killing of some of the guys that are effected by the singularity. Which in my opinion is badass.

Yeah... standard adept procedure for me is to shoot off one guys defense, lift/detonate him, then toss a singularity to where ever the most of his buddies flew off to, and detonate again, again, and again. I blow everything to pieces. It's maniacally fun.

I know dude, I dropped a singularity above a small group of guys, and I have Wide Singularity so it could pick up 4 guys instead of 7 with Heavy Singularity. I shoot a warp in the middle of that, detonate, and watch all of those guys just go flying. It's so satisfying.

Yea... no.
Warp will not detonate unless the target is ragdolled from a biotic. Protected enemies will not be ragdolled by Singularity. They will be stunned, but stun does not equal ragdoll.

Maybe your squadmates tore off the enemy protected just as you launched a Warp. Maybe you saw a huge warp explosion and thought it detonated(those huge explosions always occur when it hits armor or barriers, but has no actual AoE effect).

Um, I think I didn't explain my post. I'm not stupid, I launch a singularity into a crowd of unprotected guys, THEN I launched a Warp at one of the guys ragdolled by the singularity, and they all go flying. When you fire Warp at a person protected by Barrier or Armor, a small sort of detonation happens but it doesn't effect anyone around that character, but it does alot of damage to Armor/Barrier considerably more than other powers.

1. Strip defense of one enemy

2. Pull or whatever to get them biotically in the air

3. Warp detonate

if theres armored opponents in the blast radius, they will fly assuming the detonation is strong enough to destroy their armor.
