That if you start a new character in ME2, that character's backstory is automatically killed the council, placed Humanity at the head of the Galaxy.
Someone just confirm for me ...

Not if you import a saved game. There are sites that offer saved games if you're on the PC version.
Otherwise, I'm not sure.

Yup... have to save them in ME1 in order for that to change...... and there are a few little extra's with all the planet/Citidel/Bring Down the Sky/etc. sidemissions that are nowhere around if you don't play through ME1 and do them.

Yes, with a 'raw' playthru, the council is dead, and many of the sidemission cameos will not occur.
Wrex is also dead.
As is Kaidan.
These are some of the 'defaults' I remember from my non-import playthru. Leaves several things to be desired IMO.

Yep, and Wrex is also automatically killed off as well. That one is the main reason I'm never gong to make a new ME2 character (I had played through ME1 about three times before I even figured out Wrex *could* die in that conversation).

They could have given us the option to choose when they were "testing" Shepard's memory. :\\

As good as ME1 is, I'm not playing through it for a second time inside of a month. Raw playthrough it is!

That actually depends on Shepard's gender.CajunRexShepard wrote...

Yes, but I've only ever had a maleshep, so Kaidan was the unlucky choice.... that was the least of my worries, he died in all my playthrus, I was more worried about wrex and the council- wait... I don't care about the council either way... but I did miss a few of the ME1 cameos like Gianna Parisinni and Helena Blake that I had with my imported profiles...
