Horrible abilities for my Warrior, I played a paladin-esque character and decided to break it.

What?  Bloodthirst is amazing for warriors.  Haste, movement speed and +10% crit.  It's the single biggest dps increase skill a warrior can get.

With some  + combat health regen and + healing effects receieved, the Warrior sustain's health drain can be close to nullified. It adds something like 20 damage per hit, aside from the extra crit chance. The activated one takes almost no health at all and is like a more damaging version of the upgraded War Cry. A very nice AOE knockback.

They don't fit for every character, for my evil 2H dwarf the Warden's Keep powers actually came in incredibly handy.

Yes I guess if you set it up right it would work, I guess mine was just not set up to take the beating along with that activated. I might rig my warrior better next time and go along with it. Ta for the tip :)

Heh, I smashed it on purpose. No blood magic for me....

Ha!
I would expect nothing less from a moral miss_knight like yourself... Posted Image
My PC Mage became torn over the whole "blood magic" idea and eventually gave in to the dark side... in order to do a greater good, of course...
I love combining my meta-gaming with a good RP decision... plus, most of my favorite fantasy fiction characters are horribly torn by the decisions they make, ala "albino".
As a sidenote...
If you are a Mage and you get the "Power of Blood" you will find that the second power you get is *completely* bugged and non-functional...
It is an activated power that gives you a sustained power icon that *never* goes away.
Enjoy your one power!

My RP decision on drinking Power of Blood Vial was so that I can have a longer livespan than any other people just like Avernus.. lol

It is a pity that "Bloody Grasp" doesn't work - it is the main offensive talent that "Power of Blood" gives you...
The other power, "Dark Sustenance" works like a lyrium potion... never buying them again!!
EDIT: For a mage, that is...

I just love this Dark Sustenance, since on my last 3 playthroughs I took it as a challenge where I would complete the game without using any potions.

Wrong.
Only items wont carry over.
Spells and talents will.

Wait. What? Items won't carry over? Has this been confirmed? :(

I forget what it's called, but the mode for the rogue (ha rhymes), well it blows big time.Raises DPS a nice amount, but you don't have the health to spare cause your a freakin rogue!

I didn't drink it the first time through because I was playing very anti-blood magic. I replayed that character and drank it the second time.

anti-blood magic or not, those 2 spells just outweight any RP thoughts I could think of lol

They're okay, but not great. You'll be getting a bunch of awesome spells and abilities in Awakening, many of which will be more powerful.

no other spell available grants you as much Mana Regeneration as Dark Sustenance considering both Efficiency and Availability.. and Cost even. This is the best Mana Regeneration Spell available in The Origins.. it's actually Great.

THat's the same reason I decided to drink it. The guy is a Grey Warden, which means he should have a reduced lifespan, but instead he lives longer than most humans do naturally. That alone is reason enough to do it. (if the ****'s had discovered a cure for cancer, would you use it? I would)

It did make it a little boring. You must admit though, that going into cutscenes looking like Obi Wan Kenobi looks pretty damn awesome.

Couldnt you just disable the DLC, load your game, then save, then reenable the DLC and load? Or wouldnt it reset?

Ouch. I hope they come with a really GOOD story explanation for that. I hate when they just take them out, it's so lame. I mean, who would throw away his equipment just because? Specially the named items. It's ok on Mass Effect 2, for instance, because it makes sense; in fact, it wouldn't have made sense otherwise. Or in Baldur's Gate 2. I hope it's the same here...

Don't bet your sovereigns on it, but have you tried disabling the DLC, force loading a save, saving the game with the DLC disabled, renenabling it, and seeing if you can do it again?
Odds are it'll either work perfectly or break that save. As long as you make a new save, it's worth a shot, no?

Odds are also that you will actually be able to get to level 25 prior to The Awakening with this method and also have various sets of Warden Commander ArmorWinter's Breath..

Half-true. It'd probably get you to 25. But if you reset the DLC it'd remove the DLC items from your inventory.
