- Chronic anger. Because I grew up with a father who was capable of scaring the hell out of me although he never hit me. I don't want to have to fear my partner or walk on tenterhooks all the time, which I think is a very sad basis for a relationship.
I think we humans look in our respective significant others (yes, in plural) not what we lack, but what actually reinfoces what we deeply are.
The interesting thing is that we are paradoxical creatures who are many, many things.
