This statement is not true at all. Many of the drive of those games were graphic based.
Zelda Ocarina of Time? Considered great graphically.
And not concerned with Marketing to mainstream? The developers of the past were mainly looking to one up each other in marketing, graphics and gameplay systems.
Not that much has changed.
Hell look at Baldur's Gate 2. It was quite a large step up in graphics. At the time sure 3D was just breaking in for this genre, but that didn't stop it from bringing up the polish on BG 2.

Dont even get me started on the bullcrap that was the first games statement on how the game would be highly supported with DLC like the second one is.
Thats one thing they got right with the second, 800% more DLC than the first.
Theyve still made no formal apology for it, and I doubt they will.
There's alot of things that the new Bioware "hypes" us up for, and then severely under-delivers.
The point is Extremeone, not everyone likes the changes and Biowaste was not upfront on everything. So stop acting like a 11 year old and grow up.
thats fine you do not like the changes but you had a choice to either buy the game or not because the changes were known about before the game come out. so what is the real dislike for ME 2. Is it because its not playing the way you want or is it because you and everyone else hates that games are going main stream.

The features werent known until the a little before 2 months before the game came out.
They explained a few features, and when people expressed worry and panic, they stopped talking about it, and put it on the back burner, even LOCKING topics, so people couldnt discuss the issue anymore.
You really have no idea what youre talking about, youve obviously only been a Bioware fan since Mass Effect 2 came out... and your such a little conformists to "everyone's" opinion, its maddeningly sickening.

Now there's the craptastic story or how about the lack of modding your weapons. That was not said, they said in the lab you could upgrade your weapons, they did't say how it was, no modding hurts. How about content being cut from the game, ort cut dialog? How about the crap load of import bugs that break imersion. I know, how about Liara,Ash and Kai? There scenes where done soo poorly and now Bioware has the gal to charge us money on something that should have been in the game. What you answer for everyone who has played the Ninja Gaiden games? The first one did well enough in the West OVER THREE VERSIONS. You'd think we'd get a clue by I dunno the second. And the Second Ninja Gaiden game didn't do as well but it wasn't a flop

The only reason I like Mass Effect 2 any, is because its new, and interesting, Ive been playing the first for almost 3 years straight on and off.
Sure the characters were interesting, VERY interesting.... but alot of what would have made the game EVEN better that SHOULD have carried over from the first, was almost GONE.
Only THREE times do Legion and Tali actually have interaction.
In the first game, it wouldve been CRAZY, the amount of interaction they would have had, infact, I might not have brought them along together, JUST because they would "Quarrel" so much, (lame pun defintiely intended)..
What made me sad, is that each characters combat skills, are a copy of anothers, with a "Unique" power thrown in, which happens to be an Ammo Mod or Skill from the first.
Tali used to actually have distinct uses in the first, now she's just another generic character with amazing backround to her.
The first had passive abilities on agressive abilities, it made leveling interesting, and a multitude of powers, very fulfilling. The second got rid of that, and made it to where having many abilities, is an very, VERY bad thing.

You only instill law upon yourself, just because you cannot make a valid arguement on a game youve never played, doesnt make it a "Hardcore" discussion. It makes you an idiot who is spewing non-sense, on a subject you know, literally, nothing about.
What Biotic issues?
Sure shooting took awhile to get up to speed, but it was solely based on RPG elements, it wasnt a SHOOTER, it was an RPG with GUNS in it, VERY VERY BIG distinction between the two.
I do care about the franchise, if I didnt, I wouldnt be expressing my concern and worry as to where its going, If I didnt care, I would simply do just that, not care.
Considering the first game was about playing by your own rules.... <_<
Why dont you find a nice tall glass of STFU, go find a copy of Mass Effect, and play it, and truly SEE for yourself the difference between the two.
