The location doesn't appear on the world map, i've heard that unless you are on pc and use debug that you can't do the quest, is that true or is there a way to do it on xbox

It appears that is the case. I've got the quest in my journal but no Jowan location on the map. If I ran the developer console I could apparently trigger it, but nothing else will.

Nope impossible to do this quest on consoles.

I've never gotten it for PC either, and I am running with the latest patch.

According to the official guide it's a random encounter. But I've never found it.

I just checked on the wiki, apparently it is the same for all consoles, the quest can only be completed on the pc due to the ability to access the command console.



I may be a ps3 user but I just wanted to share what info I had found.

I don't know whether your issue is teh same but in my case I finish the urn of sacred ashes quest.

Then my diary is automatically updated with the Jownan's intention quest.



By this I would assume taht the quest is active... fraid not because when I check teh chanter board teh quest is still on the board waiting for me to select it.



Then as Ifate would dictate I click on the quest on the board and nothing happens >_<

I got Jowan's Intention on the Chanters Board quest list in my journal thing, but it has never appeared on an actual chanters board.



No area is unlocked on the map, like most other Chanters Board quests, and I've been to and fro from Denerim to Orzammar, to the Brescillian Forest and Redcliffe (basically round and round Ferelden) several times over and am obviously all random-encountered out because I've done this over 20 times and not had anything happen. At all. Not even that stupid fail Monty Python mickey-take I got for the first time with my warrior elf.



The quest just doesn't work on a console. If you have the PC version, it doesn't work unless you FORCE it. What kind of game is released where a story *quest* doesn't work, never mind all the other bugs?



Though I gotta admit to being ULTRA p!ssy about this particular problem due to being a huge Jowan fan XD

Hmm after checking again it appears only on teh denerim chanters board.

My issue is that I cannot technically use my mage character know because I wanted her to totally complete the Jowan issue >_> before continuing.



I suppose I could allways wait the issue out until a patch is out.... or I get the money for around about £1000 worth of pc upgrades..... this won't be likely though.



I am guessing that the game may be in a situation where it does not recognise that the quest is active....

Unless the quest was intended to be part of the discarded Jowan recruitment story and they forgot to remove the references in the codeing.

since patch 1.03 fixed absolutely nothing in regards to glitches (now my weapons don't show up in scenes, big wow - that was REALLY bugging me ¬¬), I'm not holding my breath for BW to fix something that's actually part of the STORY.

I don't have the location too and I can't find a way to access the console no matter what. Probably the game being on STEAM and the italian keyboard are preventing me to.



I hope they'll fix this as well with a patch.

so i'm on my umpteenth playthrough and finally just tell jowan to make a run for it so i can get this quest--  only to find i can't even complete it.

that just....well, it just bites
